Name: Zhang Wei

Personal data:

Zhang Wei, a famous calligrapher and cultural celebrity. Zhenyuan, Gansu, graduated from Xi Anyou University. At the age of eight, he began to write inscriptions and became famous by practicing calligraphy for 30 years. 1989 to 1990 was admitted to Suzhou university to study calligraphy for two years. He studied under Sha Menghai, a master of calligraphy, and obtained the qualification of calligraphy professor. He is currently the president of Xi China Calligraphy Art Creation Research Institute. His works are collected by the Royal British Museum of Art, the Chinese Revolutionary History Museum and the Peking University and China Art Museums. There are inscriptions on more than 40 places of interest such as Yunyin Mountain and Yishan Forest of Steles. He was selected for the national exhibition of famous calligraphers' works and the 6th national youth exhibition.1February, 1996, he was invited to perform calligraphy at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and General Staff Huaxi Hotel in Zhongnanhai. He is a calligrapher who was invited to perform at the two sessions in several provinces and cities in northwest China. From June 5, 2000 to 10, Zhang Wei was invited to attend the national symposium on literary and artistic creation held in the Great Hall of the People, and was cordially received by party and state leaders Jiang Zemin, Li Ruihuai and Ding Guangen. He has held solo exhibitions in Xinjiang, Weinan and Tangshan, and jointly held painting and calligraphy exhibitions in China Art Museum, Guangzhou Art Museum and Yokohama Art Museum. Main works: Zhang Wei's Calligraphy Collection was published by Beijing China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing Company 1998, Zhang Wei's Calligraphy Art was published by China International Publishing House in 2000, and Zhang Wei's Calligraphy was published by Shaanxi Publishing House 1 2005.
