Shangsha Village, located in the west of Qidu Island, is the hub of Oujiang River. In history, floods occurred frequently, and farmland was abandoned for many times. In the third year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1853), floods and tides flooded, resulting in successive years of crop failure, and villagers left their homes and were displaced. Since 1950s, under the leadership of the people's government, villagers have built dams in a planned way. Since then, the dams have been widened and reinforced every year, and the floods have gradually disappeared. August 3 1, 65438, 0992, was hit by a typhoon and rainstorm, and the field outside the school collapsed, and the water entered Shangsha Village, with an average water accumulation of more than 80 cm. As the leaders at all levels of the city, county and town led the militia and villagers to the disaster area in time to rescue and provide disaster relief, Shangsha Village still had a bumper harvest despite the disaster year. At present, the county people's government has allocated 320,000 yuan and overseas Chinese donated 70,000 yuan. The standard dike pond of Shangsha Village planned by the county water conservancy department has been built. The south dam of the standard dike pond is 2.4m high (off the ground), 7m high at the bottom, 4m high at the upper bottom and 2450m long. Shangsha Village is built along the river in the south, west and north.
