Appointment of curator of China Museum:
At present, National Cultural Heritage Administration only has the right to appoint and dismiss the staff of the two museums directly under it.
Curators of local museums are all appointed by the local government. National Cultural Heritage Administration just gives business guidance.
In 2002, the Palace Museum and the National Museum of China became vice-ministerial museums under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and were appointed by the Ministry of Culture.
