1. Put together the original extension words of the original trace. This kind of copybook is called a word selection book, for example, the word order in the dispute between Yan Qin Li Bei and Su Shi's Zuiweng Pavilion is disrupted, and it is arranged according to the number of strokes or radicals. Because this kind of post still maintains a more accurate style in a single word, it only loses the original rules (such as word spacing and line spacing), and the new calligraphy is different from creation, and the rules are not an important issue, so it is also an ideal model.
2. Don't choose works that have been repaired and engraved. This kind of post is very common in some selected scripts, reprints and Shi Yinben. Comparatively speaking, its temporary value is not too high. A copybook that has been modified by engraving will generally lose its original style, smooth strokes, lack of strength, and elusive pen movements, which are not conducive to students' experience and research on the original style. However, it at least keeps the original structure, which can be used as a reference for mastering the structure in the beginner stage.
3. Don't learn from the posts that present people are close to the ancients. A work that can resemble the original works of the ancients should be valuable in itself. But it may not be appropriate as a model. Because everyone (even successful calligraphers) will inevitably bring their own understanding and writing habits when copying historical sites. There is always a considerable distance between Linben and the original, not only in skill but also in breath.
