"Valley Flower Festival", also known as "Flower Field Festival", is an annual grand festival of Miao people in central Guizhou. Located at the top of Qingshan (also known as Phoenix Mountain) in the Pearl River Tibetan area, south of Zhiquan County 17 km, the prairie is the central flower field of festival activities, and it is called "Qingshan Flower Field". Every year, about 50,000 people from Zhijin, Nayong, Dafang, Qianxi, Puding, Qingzhen, Anshun, Liuzhi and Shuicheng participate.
After the thirteenth day of the seventh lunar month, the sheep day and the monkey day jump in the Qingshan flower field; On the third day, the Year of the Rooster moved to Dushan Flower Farm, two kilometers south. This festival lasts for three days. There are two theories about the origin of festivals. One said that during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, a Miao youth named Luo, who lived at the foot of Qingshan, married a generous Yi girl and could not have children for many years after marriage. After that, I took flowers from Dafang, jumped flowers in Qingshan on July 13, and gave birth to a son the following year. This day coincides with "Sheep Day". From then on, the Flower Show Festival began on the day of sheep after June 13.
In addition, in July of Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, the rice was heading, and it didn't rain for a long time, and the rice was about to die. Elder Miao was so anxious that he sent hundreds of people to look for water and returned disappointed for three days. Yang Guhua, a Miao girl, climbed the castle peak alone to find water. After three days and nights, she finally heard the sound of water flowing on the rock wall. According to the clues she provided, after seven days and seven nights of hard struggle, she broke through the rock wall and led to a big spring. The rice got moisture in time, and soon the Miao Qing family was ecstatic and jumped on the green lawn to celebrate. Because the spring water flowed out on July 13, people jumped around the mountain every year to express their gratitude to Miss Gu Hua, which was affectionately called "Jumping to Care for Flowers", and later simply named this day "Gu Hua Festival".
On the day of the festival, Miao men, women and children flocked to Qingshan Flower Farm from all directions. The girls wear two pigtails with colored threads at the ends. They wear dresses with embroidery or batik patterns, a square purse around their waist and a flower umbrella in their hands. Crowds of young men are holding lusheng, harmonica, erhu, flute and other musical instruments, playing beautiful music and wearing them in the women's team to attract their attention. When girls see handsome young people, they often pull strings to answer. Through this activity, many young men and women formally took over. On the basis of further contact, some young men and women met on the grass slope near the flower field, talked softly and sang love songs softly. At night, many lovers who met in the flower field sat side by side, whispering, singing softly and making vows until dawn. The next day, Qingshan Flower Farm continued to stay for one day, and there were no suitable men and women, and they continued to look for objects. On the third day, I danced in Dushan Garden, mainly because the men and women who met and fell in love in Qingshan Garden got together to say goodbye and agreed on the time and place for the next meeting, so it was also called "Fujian Day".
