When and who Yulin's "Three Whites" began, there is no record in historical documents, and there is no related legend among the people. However, the Guangxu edition of local chronicles recorded the consumption of "white powder" and tea bubbles by the people at that time. According to Grandpa Lao Yulin, every family in Yulin did this when they were young. Grandpa's grandfathers have inherited the traditional customs of their predecessors, which is roughly more than one hundred years. What is rare is that Yulin people now, every household has a special liking for the custom of offering sacrifices and welcoming guests with "white powder" every Spring Festival. Only in this way can the "fragile" Yulin "three whites" span the changes of the times and continue to spread in the real life of some families in Yulin in the form of physical objects.
White powder is the traditional new year's goods of Yulin people. On New Year's Eve, if you are a guest at Yulin's house, the hospitable Yulin people will definitely take out Yulin's unique food to greet the guests. It is round, bulging like an inverted sieve, and often accompanied by all kinds of lettering. The content of characters is usually "Fu, Lu, Shou, Xi". Before eating, the owner put his hand on it, and this exquisite work of art instantly spread out and bit into his mouth, fragrant, sweet and crisp, with endless aftertaste. This special food is what Yulin people call "white scattered" rice fragrance.
