The restoration of uncle Xuanzong's tombstone in the Tang Dynasty was completed: carved by hand 185 words.

Li Longji, the uncle of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, recently completed the restoration of a stone tablet (also known as a tombstone) on Shinto in front of Dou's tomb. Experts found that its inscription was written by Dou E, a famous calligraphy critic and calligrapher in Tang Dynasty. This is the only work of Dou U, and its inscription seal script is the only seal script of Dou U, which is of great value to the study of the history of Tang Dynasty and the history of ancient calligraphy in China. Experts found that among the existing 1357 words, 185 words were artificially destroyed.

This stone tablet was found at the site of the second phase expansion project of Xi Xianyang International Airport five years ago. At that time, the stone tablet was broken, and archaeologists excavated it and transported it back to the laboratory for splicing and repair. According to the inscription, the stone tablet was erected in the seventh year of Dali, Tang Daizong (AD 772) on the Shinto on the south side of Li Longji's tomb. The screenwriter is Dou E, and the investor is Changle princess royal, the daughter of Tang Xuanzong.

The tombstone is made of bluestone. After repairing and splicing, it is 3.66m high and 1m wide. The inscription reads "Tombstone, Bi Gong in Tang Dynasty, Fufeng Doufu Jun" with 30 lines and 60 words. It is estimated that the inscription is about 1590 words, of which 1357 words are chiseled. On the one hand, the lack of inscriptions is related to the fracture of stone tablets, on the other hand, it is caused by man-made destruction. Experts found that most of the carved words 185 were located in the lower part of the monument and were within reach. The height of 26 columns in the tombstone is 1.77m, which is slightly higher than the head-up height of ordinary people. According to the chiseled handwriting, most of it is at the height of the lower body. When the tombstone stands upright, it has been rubbinged many times. In the Tang Dynasty, the development of calligraphy art in China reached its peak, and rubbings became a hot commodity. Many businessmen deliberately chipped away the original inscriptions to make their rubbings unique. According to the number of words carved, there were hundreds of rubbings that survived at that time, but because of the age, none of them survived.

The study found that the owner of the tombstone, Dou, was the younger brother of Zhao Chengdi, the biological mother of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and also his own uncle. The officials are Prince Shao Shi and Duke Bi. They gave his gift to Stuart. The discovery of this stone tablet is of great significance to the study of the history of the Tang Dynasty.

According to inscriptions and historical records, the premature death of Dou, the biological mother of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, was entirely due to the kindness of his aunt. Therefore, after he ascended the throne, Emperor Xuanzong was particularly kind to his grandparents. Dou and his two brothers, Dou and Dou, have a very bad reputation for bullying others, especially Dou, but they are still favored by Xuanzong. All three of them were knighted and rewarded handsomely. Princess Changle, the daughter of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, married Dou's son, and the tombstone in front of Dou's tomb was built by Princess Changle.

According to historical records, these three people were buried in Dou Shi family cemetery after their death, and their tombstones were written with the names of famous writers. According to expert research, the tombstones of Dou's two brothers Dou and Dou have disappeared, but some rubbings have been included in the inscriptions compiled by Song people. Dou Tuo's films have not been published and recorded so far, and experts infer that they have been lost before the Northern Song Dynasty. This stone tablet has been buried underground since the Northern Song Dynasty. This unexpected discovery brought this stone tablet to light after 1000 years.

It is reported that this monument reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty. Most of the owners of Tang steles are celebrities, and most of them are excellent in writing, calligraphy and seal cutting, which is not as good as later steles, so they have always been cherished by the world.
