On April 27th, at the invitation of Li Zhimin, president of Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association of Quzhou County and owner of Nanyuan Painting Garden, I walked into Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association of Quzhou County with Shi Jingyuan, chairman, vice-chairman and deputy secretary-general of Quzhou Writers Association.
The eighth issue of Quzhou Culture, published in March last year, made a special report on the establishment of Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in Quzhou County, and published the flower and bird paintings of Li Zhimin, the president of Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in Quzhou County and the owner of Nanyuan Painting Garden. But since I was a child, I have been deeply impressed by Li Zhimin and Peng Babai's calligraphy and painting research society in Quzhou County.
Pengbabai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association in Quzhou County is located at No.53 Nankai Street, opposite Century Cultural Square in Quzhou County. Nankai Street is one of the busiest streets in Quzhou County. Most of the houses here are street shops, and then there are several houses at one gate. There is a yellow plaque hanging on the left side of Gate 53, which reads "Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association of Quzhou County". The inscription was written by Mr. Ma Zhifeng, a famous painter and professor of the Fine Arts Department of Handan University. Mr. Yu Xu, a famous calligrapher and scholar in China, also wrote "Peng Babai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association" Mo Bao for the seminar. Looking in from the gate, a plaque of "Nanyuan Gallery" came into view on the facing wall. The plaque was inscribed by Mr. Liu, a national first-class artist and president of Yangzhou Eight Eccentric Research Institute. The first room inside is the seat of Peng Babai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in Quzhou County, and also the home of teacher Li Zhimin. On the wall facing south hangs the plaque of "South Garden", which was inscribed by Yuan, a master printmaker in China and a professor at Handan College. The small courtyard is elegant and chic, and the main room is a two-story building. On the first floor is the living room and bedroom. On the door of the living room, there are four words inscribed by the famous calligrapher Liu Junjing: "Wise men enjoy water". On the second floor is the living room and the studio. Above the living room door is a four-character plaque inscribed by Mr. Peng Babai, a master of Chinese painting in our county. On the main wall of the living room on the second floor is the "Mo Yuan Zhai" inscribed by Wang Xudong, a famous calligrapher and president of Zhaodu Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute. Below is the print "Peng Ba Bai" specially created by Yuan for the establishment of Pengba Bai Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute in Quzhou County. On the wall on the right is the painting and calligraphy work Plum Blossom by Mr. Peng Babai, the calligraphy work of Nangong Monument inscribed by the famous calligraphy teacher Li Shoucheng, and the painting by Mr. Bu Zhiqiang, vice president of Peng Babai Research Association. On the left wall is a group of flower-and-bird paintings created by Li Zhimin, president of Peng Babai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association and owner of Nanyuan Painting Garden.
At this time, I was deeply moved by a beautiful painting and calligraphy that appeared in front of me. I was in a bustling downtown just now, but later I was in an art palace. The heart that likes painting since childhood has been ignited, but it can't be calm.
Li Zhimin, President of Pengbabai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association in Quzhou County, Wang Yubao, Secretary General, and Zhao Jianbo, Deputy Secretary General, warmly received us. Teacher Li Zhimin is in her sixties. His thin face is full of fortitude, capable behavior and meticulous words. After some welcome, Mr. Li Zhimin announced that he would hire Mr. Li Jiansheng, Chairman of Quzhou Writers Association, as the artistic consultant of Pengbabai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in Quzhou County, and everyone applauded warmly. After that, Mr. Li Zhimin showed us around the studio and gave us a detailed account of Mr. Peng Babai's main deeds. ?
Before, I just heard that there was a great painter Peng Babai in our county. I don't know what it was like. I am really proud of Li Zhimin after listening to his introduction today. Peng Babai, a native of Quzhou County, was born in 1882 and died in 197 1. He is a patriotic old man who experienced the Revolution of 1911 in China and a master of Chinese painting. From 65438 to 0952, with the personal approval of Premier Zhou Enlai, Mr. Peng Babai was hired as a librarian of the Central Museum of Literature and History, which was unique in Handan history. As early as the 1920s, Mr. Peng Babai had an exchange of poems and painting skills with Zhang, Qi Baishi, Zhang Dagan, Guo Fenghui and Ye Gongdiao in Beijing, and he was also a celebrity in Beijing. He is good at poetry and Chinese painting, especially Shi Lan. At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, in order to express patriotism, paintings were presented to Chairman Mao, Stalin, Premier Zhou and Mr. Zhu, which became a historical story. He is the pride of Qu Zhou people in the national painting and calligraphy circles. Mr. Peng Babai's hometown flavor is particularly strong, and the seals mostly appear as "Quzhou Laopeng" or "Quzhou Pengbabai". Listening to teacher Li Zhimin's introduction, I couldn't help glancing at Mr. Peng Babai's Plum Blossom Map, only to see the words "Quzhou Laopeng" impressively printed on the seal.
Teacher Li Zhimin didn't introduce himself and Peng Babai's calligraphy and painting research society too much, but I still learned something. Li Zhimin likes painting since he was a child. At the age of 16 or 17, he took his own works and asked Master Peng Babai for advice. He was favored by his master and did not hesitate to teach him. He also presented a lot of fine works for him to copy, which was truly passed down by the master and laid a solid foundation. Young people join the army and engage in business management after changing jobs, but they always have a "painter's dream" and regard painting as the first hobby in life. After leaving his post, he devoted himself to research and kept improving, and his painting skills became more and more mature. His strange stone flower-and-bird paintings are particularly unique, with both Mr. Peng Babai's painting style and his own innovation. In recent years, Mr. Li Zhimin founded "Nanyuan Painting Gallery". In 20 17, the "Wise Man Appreciates Water-Li Zhimin Flower and Bird Exhibition" was held in Yangzhou Art Museum, and then the "Celebrating the 19th National Congress-Li Zhimin Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" was held in our county museum, which was loved by the majority of painting and calligraphy lovers and widely praised by all walks of life. At the end of 20 17, in order to better inherit Mr. Peng Babai's painting style and further enhance the influence of calligraphy and painting in our county, Mr. Li Zhimin, with the support of Quzhou County Culture, Radio, Film and Television Tourism Bureau, established Quzhou County Peng Babai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association. Peng Babai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association brought together famous painters and calligraphers in Quzhou County. Teacher Li Zhimin was elected as the president of Peng Babai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in Quzhou County. In addition, Mr. Li Zhimin is also a member of China Calligraphers Association, Hebei Artists Association, Hebei Calligraphers Association, director of Handan Artists Association and art consultant of Xinghua Village Painting and Calligraphy Institute.
At this time, my heart is beating even harder! Influenced by my father, who liked painting since childhood, painting has always been my hobby throughout my study. Unfortunately, this hobby was put on hold after I joined the work. As a layman, I dare not comment on the works of Mr. Peng Babai and Mr. Li Zhimin, but their works have filled me with heartfelt love. I think that's enough. Just like writing an article, an article that can move the reader's heart is a good article, and a painting that can move the viewer's heart must be a good painting. What I admire more is their feelings and spirit. Mr. Peng Babai loves his hometown and cherishes talents. I admire Li Zhimin's persistent pursuit of art.
The most beautiful thing in the world is that beautiful women and beautiful women walk with you. At the end of this beautiful trip, we received another great news. Teacher Li Zhimin gave each of us a pair of his paintings, while teacher Wang Yubao gave each of us a pair of his calligraphy. It is said that poetry and painting are a family. Through this visit and exchange, the friendship between Quzhou Writers Association and Pengbabai Calligraphy and Painting Research Association of Quzhou County is more and more splendid, and the two associations will work together for the prosperity of Quzhou culture.
