Mr. Guan Shan's Calligraphy Works

Guan Shan, also known as Guan Chao, was born in 1956. Graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Calligraphers Association, deputy secretary-general of China Famous Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, member of China Calligraphy Art Research Association, and consultant of China Calligraphy and Painting of Ministry of Culture. In his early years, he studied Yan Zhenqing's block letters, and later he specialized in Erwangxingshu, Zhang Xu, Zhao Mengfu and Mi Fei fonts. Especially in the running script, cursive font quite accomplished. In 2009, he was awarded the title of "100 Painters in China". Brief introduction of Mr. Guan Shan's calligraphy

Name: Guanshan

Guan Shan, also known as Guan Chao, was born in 1956. Graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Calligraphers Association, member of Beijing Calligraphers Association, academician of China Famous Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, deputy secretary-general, member of China Calligraphy and Calligraphy Federation, member of China Calligraphy Art Research Institute, and painting and calligraphy consultant of China Ministry of Culture. Now living in Beijing, he studied Yan Zhenqing's seal script in his early years, and then specialized in Erwangxingshu, Zhang Xu, Zhao Mengfu and Mi Fei fonts. Especially in the running script, cursive font quite accomplished. His style is similar to that of Su Shi, a famous contemporary calligrapher and director of China Book Association. Both of them are smart and elegant, and won the reputation of two kings. His works have won many awards in the national calligraphy competition.

Mr. Guan Shan's achievements and honors

In 2009, he was awarded the title of "100 Painters in China". His works have spread to Japan, Singapore, the United States, South Korea and Malaysia, and hundreds of his works were exhibited in the 8th China, South Korea, Japan and New Zealand International Competition. Some of his works were selected into the works of 100 painters and calligraphers of the 60th anniversary of China. One of the works was exhibited in Hebei Hall of the Great Hall of the People, and the other three works were collected by the Shanghai World Expo and selected for the China Contemporary Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition.

Mr. Guan Shan is modest, honest and indifferent to fame and fortune. He is recognized as an artist with both ability and political integrity.

Mr. Guan Shan's works are sold in Beijing Liulichang, Ai Jia International Collection Market of Dazhong Temple, Beijing Antique City and Beijing Tianya Antique City. Mr. Guan Shan is good at writing books, and his style is unique and superb. Elegant and comfortable, his calligraphy works have high appreciation and collection value, and many works are collected by calligraphy lovers at home and abroad. A large number of works have been collected by calligraphy lovers, collectors and appraisers at home and abroad, and many works are currently being auctioned at international auction houses.

Mr. Guan Shan's Artistic Style

He studied under Su, Huang, Mi, Cai, Wang Duo, Fu Shan, He Zizhen and traced back to Wei Bei. He started Gu Zhuo's calligraphy style by running script, which is thick, vigorous, beautiful, generous and fluent. His works are beautiful in plain, clever in dignified, extraordinary in bearing and appealing to both refined and popular tastes. Deeply loved by people at home and abroad, it occupies an important position in contemporary calligraphy.
