Chen Shouren (1899- 1980) is a native of Zhaotong, Yunnan. When I was young, I moved to niujie, Yiliang County with my father. I like calligraphy and painting since I was a child. His calligraphy is fluent and skillful, and his paintings of landscapes, figures, insects, fish and flowers and birds are lifelike. In 1930s, he was engaged in sculpture in Kunming, studying portraits of people. Besides going to work, I concentrate on micro-carving. His ivory micro-carving works are dominated by figures. Early works include Sun Yat-sen's statue and Guanyin Buddha statue. The portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen is similar to a 6-inch photo, and it consists of more than 2400 characters, which are displayed with a magnifying glass of 100 times. After 1950, he worked in Kunming Tooth Carving Production Cooperative, Arts and Crafts Factory and Arts and Crafts Research Institute. He is a member of Kunming CPPCC. 1964, ivory carvings in Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai and Zhu De were completed and exhibited in the arts and crafts exhibition, which was highly praised. The portrait of Mao Zedong is14cm long and10cm wide. It consists of two articles, Speech at Yan 'an Forum on Literature and Art and Transforming Our Learning, with a total of more than 26,000 words. The font is vigorous and smooth, the lines are neat, the text is beautiful, the layout is appropriate, and the portrait is kind and touching. Other figures are also lifelike, with both form and spirit, which is a rare micro-sculpture. His works were lost before 1950, and some of them were exported to other countries. There are four scenic spots in Kunming, namely Longmen, Shilin, Daguanlou and Jinmafang, which have been preserved and become craft treasures handed down from generation to generation. 1980 died in Kunming in May at the age of 8 1 [1]. Chen Shouren (1947—2009), a native of Rongcheng County, Hebei Province, was originally from Xing Wu, Jiangsu Province. University degree. Graduated from Peking University. Famous calligrapher, good at regular script. He died in Tianjin in 2009.
Judging from his introduction, I think his works are still very valuable. At least in Yunnan Province, the value of a painter's works depends on people's understanding of him, his fame and the artistic value of his works. If you like his works, it is valuable to you, but if you don't like them, it is worthless!
