Interview record

Xu Ruoshi's Extraordinary Magnolia officinalis

Mr. Xu Ruoshi, a master of seal cutting, is well-known at home and abroad for his works such as Thousand Handprints, Baifu Seal and Hundred Zen Seal. In fact, Mr Xu is also a connoisseur, scholar and painter. Wang Xuexi painted and his works participated in the 6th National Art Exhibition. Mr. Wang writes poems and publishes them. Mr. Wang is a scholar, a researcher at the China National Studies Association, and the author of Oracle Bone Inscriptions's Vocabulary and Eight Thoughts and Eight Essays (Three-body) and Hundreds of Family Names.

This is xu teacher's calligraphy. Xu Ruoshi was trapped in a room for more than 20 years because he took care of his beloved wife. Art is not a friend in the same boat, but an open and lofty bosom friend. As the president of Qi Baishi Printing Art Research Association, Mr. Wang continued Qi Baishi's pulse and style in calligraphy. These two calligraphies are steady and frank, full of "bookish spirit" and "golden stone spirit", showing elegant breath and elegant style, simple and honest, romantic and unrestrained, writing a calm and frank mind, writing a calm and frank soul and writing an elegant beauty of temperament.

For Qi Baishi, if we can't approach his mind with childlike nature and real eyes, we won't really understand and appreciate his art. Therefore, if we can't read the detached and frank life between the lines of Mr. Xu Ruoshi, then we must still have a certain distance from Mr. Xu. After all, Xu Ruoshi is so approachable and real, and his artistic realm and his state of mind are completely interlinked.

Zhang Xiangzhou painted a beautiful woman on a German bullet train.

The figure painting in Chinese painting can best reflect the social changes and the style of the times because of its intuitive performance elements. After historical elutriation, excellent figure painting has finally become a microcosm of the times and a humanistic specimen of a country, a nation and a region. From this perspective, the figure painter is lucky. Zhang Xiangzhou, a young painter and vice chairman and secretary general of Taiyuan Artists Association, can be attributed to this creative direction. Crossing is a theme work made by the painter who participated in Taiyuan Federation of Literary and Art Circles to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Taiyuan's liberation. On April 1 day, the train from Taiyuan to Beijing EMU was opened, which can be said to be an epoch-making feat in the history of Shanxi people's travel. It will definitely be written into history together with traffic "signs" such as small donkeys and narrow rails. The author chose the opening of the bullet train to show the great changes in Taiyuan in the past 60 years, which is undoubtedly the best angle and smart enough. The great changes in these 60 years are not only the great changes in materials and hardware, but also the great changes in people's feelings and hearts. The author visited the railway station many times to experience the superiority of the bullet train and the warm spring service of "ground connection" These changes are projected into the picture: the mountains and rivers are arrogant and the mountains and rivers are greatly changed, with beautiful, fashionable and sunny flight attendants as the main body and the "Harmony" motor car ready to go as the link. In art, this work is a combination of fine brushwork, which is full of reality and reality, rich in levels and distinctive in theme, and brings a panoramic view of the spring breeze.

Zhao Meisheng impression

One afternoon earlier this month, I interviewed Mr Zhao Meisheng. At that time, Mr. Wang had just returned from the "Art Salon" held by China Fine Arts Publishing House in Erdos, Inner Mongolia, and had not finished washing his travel notes. BOCOG also informed him that he was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the "2008 Olympic Fine Arts Conference". On August 6, 2007, Mr. Wang's elaborate work "Brilliant Olympics" was unveiled at the National Museum, which, together with the works of other Chinese and foreign artists in 2007, added luster to the window of Olympic culture. This is a grand top-level international art event, and Zhao Meisheng is one of the few invited artists. This is the second time that Zhao Meisheng has participated in art activities of this level and scale. In 2006-2007, the State Council Press Office, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Artists Association jointly held "One World China Painters Painting the United Nations Family Art Exhibition", and Zhao Meisheng was invited to paint in Trinidad and Tobago, North America. That exhibition is the largest art exhibition in China since the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). More than 200 China painters painted more than 200 countries. When it was launched, all ambassadors from more than 200 countries were present. They regard the artistic creation of China painters as an honor. Since then, the exhibition has been exhibited all over the world.

The selection of invited artists by the International Olympic Committee has always been strict with high standards, and the artists selected by them must be the top artists in China painting circle. As a special painter of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Zhao Meisheng's artistic achievements in the field of freehand brushwork of flowers and birds in Chinese painting are obvious to all. Since Xu Wei in the Ming Dynasty, China's freehand brushwork of flowers and birds has been colorful and climaxed, and insurmountable peaks such as Four Monks in the Ming Dynasty, Eight Eccentrics in Yangzhou, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi and Pan Tianshou have emerged continuously. It is too difficult to make a breakthrough in freehand brushwork of flowers and birds and become a whole! It happened that Zhao Meisheng didn't believe in this evil. He made progress in spite of all the difficulties. After 40 years of poverty, he made great efforts in the beauty of form, structure, color and charm of flower-and-bird painting, and the artistic crystallization "Zhao Jia Hua Bird" made a beautiful contribution to China art. In order to affirm and praise his exploration and achievements, on September 5, 2006, China Art Museum held a solo exhibition for the second time, and People's Fine Arts Publishing House also held the premiere of Zhao Meisheng, a collection of modern painters in China. The collection of paintings by modern and contemporary painters in China, commonly known as "Dahongpao", is a symbol of the highest artistic achievement of China artists. Few people can wear this kind of "Dahongpao". Zhao Meisheng finally obtained this "authoritative" certification for his outstanding exploration.

Mr Zhao Meisheng's flower-and-bird paintings have no sense of distance. No matter from which angle to examine and appreciate, they can always bring beautiful enjoyment to the viewer. His flower-and-bird works, whether in material selection, composition, color setting or expression of spiritual connotation, are always filled with the painter's high-profile pen and ink confidence. This self-confidence comes from learning from nature, and many a mickle makes a mickle. However, learning from nature and many a mickle makes a muckle is a universal truth, which obviously cannot accurately reveal the mystery of his artistic creation. The author thinks it is Mr. Wang's unshakable pen and ink dignity as an artist! We know that similarity and repetition are natural enemies of artistic creation. China's colorful treasure house of flower-and-bird paintings is a severe test for every painter with innovative aspirations. Zhao Meisheng is well aware of this. He remained vigilant and highly independent from the beginning. He didn't repeat his predecessors, or even copy their works. His learning tradition is to talk to the author and absorb its essence through repeated observation. He doesn't repeat himself, but with the courage and consciousness of "painting is not amazing and endless", he tries to paint himself and stick to his own path. It is the insistence on the dignity of pen and ink that keeps the painter firm from beginning to end, not lost or confused, and breaks a path, which has made him confident and dazzling today!

With the above understanding, it will be smoother to sort out Mr. Wang's artistic exploration later. Stupidly, Mr. Wang's freehand flower-and-bird painting has at least the following "three beauties"

Great beauty in form. Throughout ancient and modern flower-and-bird painters, most of them take broken branches and broken flowers as the object of expression, and generally attach importance to pen and ink interest and literati sentiment. This is also the traditional painting road of mature China literati painting, and it is also the only way for many flower and bird painters to learn from the ancients. Zhao Meisheng ignored this point. He doesn't eat the leftovers of the ancients, adopts the avoidance policy of "people take me away, people dislike me", adheres to the traditional theme of not painting branches, not engaging in gorgeous composition and not engaging in hodgepodge. Its picture creation, whether it is potted fresh things or wild flowers, is simple and simple, emphasizing the dignity of individual life. Mr. Wang is especially good at expressing high-profile praise with exaggerated arguments. First of all, he forms a simple, pure, vigorous and magnificent beauty visually, and takes the lead.

The beauty of color. Zhao Meisheng is a self-taught painter. His advantage is rich life accumulation, and his artistic vocabulary comes from a solid life. But compared with the modeling quality of professional painters, Ceng Laoshi has been ashamed for a long time. Since the 1950s, Mr. Wang has made up his mind to make up other people's four-year college courses in 40 years. So, he began to extend his brush to nature, aimed at vivid real life, and practiced sketching hard to familiarize all natural creatures. In addition, Mr. Wang also widely absorbs the nutrition of watercolor painting, oil painting and other western paintings. Accumulated natural vocabulary keeps coming into Mr. Wang's pen, so that he can't deviate from the original color of life when painting freehand brushwork. The colors in his works are always full of human feelings and a sense of freshness, which embodies Mr. Wang's deep praise and sublimation of real life and is undoubtedly the most touching and intelligent aesthetic expression for readers!

The most beautiful breath. The biggest feature of traditional literati painting is the lyricism of freehand brushwork. But most of the feelings expressed are resentful, depressed, aloof and self-admiring, full of tragic beauty of scars (of course, this is related to the painter's era). Pen and ink should keep pace with the times. Although Zhao Meisheng had a rough half-life, the 30 years since he began to devote himself to flower and bird creation in the 1970s are exactly the 30 years of China's reform and opening up and China's "Renaissance". Mr Wang Can is confident and enterprising in troubled times and adversity, and energetic when he is happy in prosperity. He naturally combines this sunny and positive modality with pen and ink, so that the picture naturally exudes a tension of loving life and passionate creation. As far as art is concerned, the artistic expression of this sunny mentality is a vigorous creativity, and as far as audience aesthetics is concerned, it is a healthy, enthusiastic and positive spiritual appeal, which leads the audience beyond all practical sufferings. Appreciate Mr. Wang's paintings, whether it is a single plant or a flower, whether it is elegant and beautiful or colorful, it is quiet, without glitz and impatience. It can be seen that Mr. Wang's mind is clear and broad, which brings us pleasure and peace of mind.

Go your own way, suit both refined and popular tastes, the old urchin in the painting! Now 83-year-old Zhao Meisheng still insists on "starting from scratch every day", and he encourages himself by "even taking only half a step in life". It is his stubbornness and paranoia, his artistic courage of independent thinking and bold innovation that makes him successful in the painting circle of Spring.
