Advantages and disadvantages of writing brush

The advantage of writing brush is that it can cultivate self-cultivation; The disadvantage of brush is that it is easy to crack and the water content is not ideal.

First, advantages:

Learning brush calligraphy can make people calm down, cultivate people's excellent qualities such as concentration, carefulness, patience and perseverance, and thus improve people's comprehensive quality, which is irreplaceable by other disciplines.

As the saying goes: quiet and far-reaching, quiet and wise. When a person's mind is at peace, his thinking quality and efficiency are the highest; On the contrary, it is impetuous, confused or incoherent. Nowadays, the pace of social life is getting faster and faster, but people are generally impetuous, careless and lack patience and perseverance. Through brush calligraphy, you can make up for it.

Second, the shortcomings:

1, good score

This is the most common symptom of "two brushes", which can also be called "not gathering the front". Because of the technological reasons, the combination of long and short pens is unreasonable, or the characteristic fusion degree of materials is not handled well.

2. The water content is not satisfactory

Traditional good pens are generally "ink-containing" after absorbing ink. When writing some medium-sized fonts, a pen with enough ink can make the creator do it in one go, and even when the pen starts to dry up, it can continue to write, forming a unique effect. However, if the material is not authentic and has no or "ink storage" ability at all, it will force you to dip in ink more frequently than usual.

The development process of writing brush can be roughly divided into four stages:

The first stage:

The formation stage of writing brush is probably from Shang Dynasty to Warring States Period, and the making of writing brush is very simple. 1995 The fragments of pottery pots unearthed from Shang Dynasty site in Zhengzhou, Henan Province have eight characters written with a brush, which is the earliest writing with a brush ever discovered by human beings. However, the earliest brush we saw came from Chu State in the Warring States Period.

The second stage:

In the mature stage of brush, from Qin Dynasty to Han Dynasty, the imperial court had very high requirements for the brush used in daily writing documents and memorials, which promoted the development and maturity of brush manufacturing technology.

The third stage:

From the Six Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, calligraphy talents came forth in large numbers, and the requirements for writing brushes became higher and higher, which promoted the improvement of production technology. Among them, the great calligrapher Liu Gongquan contributed a lot to the improvement of the writing brush.

The fourth stage:

The stable stage of brush technology is probably after Song Yuanming, and the brush used is similar to that now.
