Forest Cultivation Laboratory is a key open laboratory of State Forestry Administration, which focuses on basic and applied basic scientific research and undertakes the task of cultivating high-level talents. The laboratory was established in March 1995 and officially opened to the public in June/996, relying on the construction of forestry research institute of China Academy of Forestry, a social welfare scientific research unit. The director of the laboratory is a researcher from Meng Ping.
Focusing on the domestic demand and international frontier, the laboratory mainly focuses on some important, key and frontier topics and projects that have remarkable economic benefits for forest cultivation, and engages in basic research and applied basic research related to forest genetic improvement and forest cultivation, and strengthens the research of marginal and interdisciplinary subjects. Its main research directions include the molecular basis of tree characters and genetic improvement of trees, breeding of new materials, physiological and ecological characteristics of main afforestation species and intensive forest cultivation.
The research goal of the laboratory is (1) to analyze the molecular basis of fast-growing, high-quality and stress-resistant trees and develop molecular seed improvement technology. (2) Establish a technical system for the protection and utilization of gene resources of main afforestation tree species; Introduce and popularize high and new technology, and formulate genetic improvement strategies for main afforestation tree species; Explore the action principle of new green plant growth regulators and biological agents, improve seedling breeding methods and equipment, and realize large-scale breeding of improved varieties. (3) Improve the theoretical basis of forest ecosystem management, explore ways to support forest directional cultivation technology, and realize the dynamic optimal control of the whole process of industrial timber forest cultivation; Develop auxiliary decision-making tools needed for forest management. (4) Establish a platform for Qualcomm gene isolation and protein identification of poplars, and improve the technical system of research on main construction tree species of ecological forests and artificial forests such as poplars. (5) Provide theoretical basis for large-scale ecological engineering afforestation planning and its environmental effect evaluation.
The laboratory has a series of specialized laboratories such as molecular biology, functional genomics, cytology, protein omics, molecular markers, microscopic observation, tissue culture and so on. Research entities with complete hardware systems have been built, including matrix-assisted laser desorption time-of-flight mass spectrometry workstation, PF-2D protein multidimensional chromatographic separation system, protein two-dimensional electrophoresis system, gene chip scanning analysis system, protein polypeptide sequence analyzer, nucleic acid analyzer, bioluminescence microscope, microdissection, nano-high performance liquid chromatography analysis system, quantitative PCR thermal cycler, ultracentrifuge and other large-scale high-precision instruments. The laboratory implements open sharing of large-scale instruments and equipment. A public research platform in the field of forest cultivation research with first-class advanced equipment has been established. National Forestry Administration Plant New Variety Molecular Determination Laboratory
The responsibilities of the molecular determination laboratory are:
1) Formulate detection guidelines and technical standards related to molecular detection; 2) Research and develop new technologies and methods for testing new plant varieties;
3) Developing and establishing molecular description database/atlas database of new plant varieties;
4) undertake the task of measuring new plant varieties.
Laboratory area:
The genetic analysis laboratory is 30m, the image analysis room is 15m, and the material storage room and test preparation room are 15m respectively.
Main research areas:
(1) The theory and technology of DUS (specificity, consistency and stability) test and molecular determination provide a reliable basis for the protection of plant variety rights;
(two) the promotion, training, consultation and international exchange and cooperation of testing technology for new plant varieties;
(3) Formulating guidelines (standards) for testing new varieties of forestry plants;
(4) Research and development of detection technologies for new varieties of forestry plants, including molecular determination, image recognition and other new technologies;
(5) Judicial expertise: Beijing Higher People's Court authorized judicial expertise institutions to provide professional expertise basis for civil and administrative litigation of some new plant varieties.
