After graduating from Xining No. 2 Middle School in 1962, he studied art with his father and worked as a worker in a craft engraving factory. In 1985, he founded the Cui Mo Zhai Painting and Calligraphy Society. In 1990, he was transferred to the Chengzhong District CPPCC in Xining City as Vice Chairman. He is currently a director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, chairman of the Qinghai Provincial Calligraphers Association, president of the Qinghai Provincial Seal Society, a national second-level artist, and his studio name is Yiyanzhai, Yunshantang. His calligraphy and seal cutting works have been selected into the first, second, and fourth national calligraphy and seal cutting exhibitions, and the first, second, third, and fourth national calligraphy and seal cutting exhibitions for young and middle-aged people. Participated in large domestic and foreign exhibitions such as the Sino-Japanese Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition, the Second Sino-Singapore Exchange Exhibition, the Sino-Korean Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition, the First and Second International Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition, etc. In 1985, he participated in the Second Congress of Chinese Calligraphers, was elected as a director and was re-elected as a director for the third term. In 1988, he visited Japan. In 1991, he published "Selected Works of Wang Yun's Calligraphy and Seal Cutting". In September 1995, he held the "Exhibition of Wang Yun's Calligraphy Works" at the National Art Museum of China. He once served as the director of the calligraphy department of the Qinghai Branch of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University. He traveled to most parts of Qinghai to spread the art of calligraphy and had a large number of followers. Calligraphy is based on the Wei stele, and is made of stele stickers. It has changed from ancient to modern times. It can be used in all four styles, but it is especially good at running calligraphy. He is a representative figure of young calligraphers in Qinghai calligraphy circle. Won the Qinghai Provincial Outstanding Literary and Artistic Works Creation Award three times.
