Take a walk along Changshun Street.

Changshun Street, the main street of Shaocheng in Qing Dynasty, is like a centipede. Changshun Street is the body, and the small streets on both sides are like centipedes, with General Yamen (now Jinhe Hotel) as the head.

From south to north, the eastern part is: Jiangjun Street, Dongsheng Street, Binsheng Street, Guihua Lane, Renhou Street, Duozi Lane, Commercial Street, Niangniangmiao Street, Huangwa Street, Changfa Street, Dongmen Street, Dongmapeng Street, Hong Qiang Lane, Guojielou Street, Banjiexiang and Dongerdao Street.

There are Xisheng Street, Jingxiang Street, Narrow Lane, Wide Lane, Zhijishi Street, Paulownia Tree Street, Yegong Street, Zhazi Street, Xiaotong Lane, Kuixinglou Street, Jixiang Street, Huaishu Street, Ximapeng Street, Jiaojia Lane, Zhu Ye Lane, Sidao Street, Sandao Street and Erdao Street in the west.

At first, this street had no name. During the Republic of China, the city was demolished. This street was originally called Tongshun Street, but there are streets in the north of the city called Zhengtongshun and Dongtongshun Street. In order not to be reused, it was renamed Changshun Street, which means long-term smoothness.

Changshun Street is divided into upper, middle and lower streets. Jiangjun Street to Commercial Street is the upper street, Commercial Street to Dongmapeng is the middle street, and Dongmapeng to Dongerdao Street is the lower street.

I grew up in Changshun Middle Street and have deep feelings for it. Some people and things are still hard to forget. I also classified this street and wrote several articles about memories, which will be gradually submitted to this official WeChat account.

In the early 1970s, the affiliated hospital of Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was still in Sidao Street. From time to time, people dressed as people from rural areas or other places ask how to get to Sidao Street. That must be the person who went to the affiliated hospital of traditional Chinese medicine. The residents here will show others the way in a friendly way. And some people who ask how to get to Huangwa Street are mostly people who ask the Huangwa Street police station to handle the transfer or account transfer. In this case, people in Zhongjie always ask kindly, "Are you looking for Huangwa Street or Huangwa Street Police Station?" After getting a reply from the police station in Huangwa Street, tell the person who asked for directions that "the police station you are looking for is in Jixiang Street." Because although it is called Huangwa Street Police Station, it moved to Jixiang Street in the 1960s, and its name is still called Huangwa Street Police Station, so that people who ask for directions will not go the wrong way.

There are two famous people in Changshun Middle Street who will not be forgotten. One is Yao Shucheng, located at the mouth of Kuixing Building, cooking steamed beef on Zhide. We call him Uncle Yao. His steamed beef and crispy pot helmet are famous in Chengdu and even the whole country.

In the fifties and sixties, Jinniu Hotel often picked him up by car to make steamed beef and pot helmets for the central leaders who came to Sichuan for meetings. Steamed beef also attended the state banquet in the Great Hall of the People.

Another famous person is Lu Hongnian-we call him Uncle Lu. Lu Bobo, a native of Renshou, Sichuan, was born in Chengdu in191and died in June/994 at the age of 84. He used to be Secretary-General of Chengdu Municipal Government (then Mayor Yu Zhongying), Recommender of National Government and Secretary of Sichuan Provincial High Court. After liberation, his classmate Li (then mayor of Chengdu) recommended him to be a researcher at the Provincial Museum of Literature and History. He was also one of the founders of Sichuan Library and Chengdu Water Supply Company.

Lu Bobo is proficient in Confucian classics, long poems and calligraphy all his life, and he is quite accomplished in the collection and appreciation of cultural relics and historic sites. He is recognized as a strange man in calligraphy. Throughout his life, his character of integrity, not doing false things, not telling lies and not going with the flow was frustrated by the well-known political environment. However, when he gets along with his neighbors, he is an amiable uncle Lu. In my image, he loves to wear Chinese double-breasted clothes all year round. If the weather is hot, he will wear a pair of leather slippers on his feet, thick glasses and a long cigarette rod in his mouth, smiling at people at any time.

If there are any weddings, funerals and weddings in the neighborhood, please ask him to help me write Chinese calligraphy. He always gives everything he wants and never refuses. I remember my father died in 198 1 and asked him to write an elegy for his father.

Changshun Street is now a two-way street for buses. There are many high-rise buildings and shops on both sides, and Kuanzhai Lane's reputation is world-famous. But its past people, events and street scenes will remain in my memory forever.
