Zheng Qiao [Song Dynasty], courtesy name Huishu, nicknamed Huixi, was from Guiling, Shuanggui Village, Chixi Township, Yongtai, and was Zheng Qiao's nephew.
Zheng Qiao (1144-1215), courtesy name Huishu and nickname Huixi, was a native of Guiling, Shuanggui Village, Chixi Township, Yongtai. The tomb of Zheng Qiao is located on the north side of Jiaozhong Temple in Tongguan Village, Wutong Town, Yongtai County, Fujian Province (at the junction with Xianyou Youyang). Zheng Qiao was the son of Zheng Qiao. In the fifth year of Qiandao in the Southern Song Dynasty (1169), he was the champion of Ji Chou Branch and was awarded the title of Judge of Jiedu of Zhennan Army. During the Guangzong and Ningzong dynasties, he was promoted to the position of Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Privy Council. He was upright and dared to remonstrate, and he was considerate of the people's sentiments. He repeatedly petitioned the court to provide disaster relief and reduce taxes. He is good at calligraphy, especially running script.
His courtesy name was Uncle Hui and his name was Huixi. In the fifth year of Emperor Xiaozong's reign (1169), he was the first scholar in the Chou Department. A native of Putian, Xinghua Army. The nephew of historian Zheng Qiao and the son-in-law of Wang Yingchen. In 1194, he was promoted from Minister of Civil Affairs to Tongzhi Privy Councilor. Soon he was promoted to Doctor Xuanfeng. In 1197, he was dismissed from his post and became known to Hangzhou as a scholar of Zizhengdian University.
