Zeng Guofan 10 Classic Couplet

1

Many things go wrong because they are busy.

A good man comes from a painful experience.

This is a self-disciplined and self-motivated book association.

The first is self-discipline. Things are complicated and changeable. When you are busy, things are chaotic, and you should do things steadily.

The bottom line encourages yourself. Most successful people have suffered. Only when they have suffered can they become masters.

2

Have overall interests or ultimate goals in mind, and start with specific problems; While working hard on the ground, we should see the overall goal.

Shut up and live alone.

To look at the overall situation is to be far-sighted and have a sense of the overall situation. And can consider the long-term, small start means being cautious and starting from the details.

Live in groups, keep your mouth shut, be careful when getting along with a group of people, and being a good listener is great wisdom. When you are alone, you should be happy to enjoy, reflect and keep your pure and kind heart.

three

If you are not a saint, you are an animal.

Mo Wen harvests, but requires farming.

"It's either a saint or an animal." This sentence sounds extreme, but it is actually Mr. Zeng Guofan's strict requirements for himself-asking him to establish a good character and not tolerate a little bit.

"Mo Wen harvests, but asks about cultivation", warning us not to just think about harvest. If you don't work hard, how can you reap? Just like a big tree, it can flourish only if it is deeply rooted.

four

Children and grandchildren, rural areas,

The family style is half-reading and half-farming, but it inherits Zuze.

No official, no responsibility,

The world is cold, and it will only be difficult for Cao.

This couplet was written by Zeng Guofan's father, not by Zeng Guofan.

But no matter who wrote it, we can all see the noble sentiments and noble character expressed in the couplets!
