One thing we should pay special attention to here is that the reason why Zen Master Huangbo changed "Guan Xin" to "Shen Hua Tou" was because he saw that the practitioners at that time had gradually deteriorated in nature and had to change it for the sake of understanding and opportunity. Nowadays, the time to go to the holy world is even further away, and the innate ability is even worse. Not to mention practicing Zen, I am afraid that not many people even know the rules of the Zen hall. In this case, we have to look up to the eminent monks and great virtues of today. It is time to promote the practice of chanting Buddha's name and Zen according to the current circumstances. For example, if we say that reciting the name of the Buddha is the Zen of reciting the Buddha, and the Zen of reciting the Buddha is still reciting the Buddha, why bother? Because most people like Zen, if you don’t add the word Zen, just teaching them to recite Buddha’s name will not achieve much effect. This is the same as domestic products. If there are not a few English letters on it, it will definitely be unsaleable. That’s why I ask to promote the practice of chanting Buddha’s name. I wonder if the enlightened people think so? I am a young monk who has become a monk on the way, and I don’t understand Zen at all. What I said above are some insights gained from reading and thinking, and they may not be completely correct. If you are interested in Zen, you might as well read the koan quotations of the ancestors of the past generations. , and then you have to ask an old mage who has lived in the jungle for advice, which is more reliable and working behind closed doors will not work. As the saying goes: 'If the donkey runs fast, the horse is worthless. ’ Let’s look at the ancient people who achieved success in Zen meditation. All of them came out of suffering in the Zen hall. Nowadays, there are also people who claim to be "Tangshi", because he is studying the "Famous and Fortune-Tang" which is a special teaching outside Zen. He relies on the power of the Buddha and is so strange that he confuses the public. If you study with him, you are guaranteed to make mistakes! ’ What most people today refer to as Zen seems to refer to the Zen of the Patriarch. Although this Zen states that it "does not establish words and teaches outsiders," Bodhidharma taught the heart seal to Huike, using Lankavatara as a witness; the Fifth Patriarch taught Huineng the heart seal, and sealed the contract with the Diamond Sutra. From this point of view, isn't there some contradiction? Otherwise, because not establishing words means not adhering to words, it does not mean not using words. As far as the method of practice is concerned, this Zen does not avoid sight, hearing, and awareness. As long as you can walk, stand, sit, and lie down, it is enough to practice it without leaving this (Hua Tou). To a certain extent, you have to test your skills and answer questions and answers. Only when the opportunity is right and the opportunity is right, can the heart be enlightened. I think there are not many people who can ask questions now, and not many can answer them. If you can recite a few koans and recite a few witty sentences, even if you can sit on the bed and study for a long time, then maybe it is "Zen", maybe it is "Tang". '! But those who cultivate the Pure Land also do not avoid seeing, hearing, and knowing. It is best to walk, stand, sit, and lie down, and just recite without departing from this (reciting the name of the Buddha). As for the test of kung fu, there is no need to bother others. You can test it yourself, and use the three self-examinations to reflect on yourself. Method: Have the delusions been reduced? Are your worries less severe than before? Do you take fame and fortune lightly? Is the fundamental precept violated? Are the words and deeds consistent with the requirements of Buddhism? Are you calm in all circumstances? Is life frugal? Are you diligent in reciting the Buddha's name? Is your faith firm? Is the wish true? ...If I can review my behavior at any time and correct it so as not to do it again, I will be able to regain my innocence one day. 10. Pure Land Sect: Jing means purity, earth means the kingdom, and the kingdoms of the Buddhas in the ten directions are all pure, so they are called Pure Land. The world we live in is so filthy that it is called the dirty land. The pure land we are going to talk about now refers to the Western Paradise. This is to unify our thoughts, focus them on one situation, reduce discrimination against external situations, and gradually cut off the train of thought and strengthen our mindfulness. In the future, we can rely on the power of the Buddha's mercy to be reborn in the West. This is called the Pure Land Dharma. This method originated from the Panzhou Samadhi Sutra, and the scriptures it relies on are three sutras and one treatise. Therefore, those who practice the Pure Land pay special attention to the Amitabha Sutra, the Infinite Life Sutra, and the treatise on rebirth. Since the holy religion was introduced to our country, the Pure Land method was not spread too widely at first. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Master Huiyuan came to the world and strongly advocated it. So he established a lotus society in Lushan, Jiangxi, and gathered people to recite the Buddha's name. Later, they all passed away. , and thus the Pure Land Sect was officially established. Amitabha, the leader of the Paradise World, was a king before he became a Buddha. When King Ishvara lived in the world, he gave up his throne and became a monk because of hearing the Buddha's sermons. He was named Dharmagarbha Bhikkhu. At that time, the Buddha made him see the majestic and wonderful appearance of the pure land of 21 billion Buddhas, so he made forty-eight vows in front of the Buddha. Each vow said that if it was not fulfilled, he would not become a Buddha. Then, based on the Pure Lands of the Buddhas, a country was built in the west of our world, about ten thousand billions of Buddha lands away, after five kalpas, and named the Land of Ultimate Bliss.Doing so will not only not benefit your practice, but will also lead to a huge sin. At the same time, people who understand Buddhism will also laugh at you for being a "blind blind man who doesn't know the truth." ’ Other related articles
