The life of the character

Calligraphy Etiquette, edited by Jing Shunyi, a contemporary calligrapher, has been published by Beijing Education Press for five years. The book organically combines calligraphy with literature, etiquette, military and other disciplines, broadens the new field of calligraphy research and enables readers to learn new knowledge in many aspects and fields.

The aesthetic viewpoint of "Calligraphy and Etiquette" put forward by Jing Shunyi has been guided and affirmed by many calligraphy predecessors in academic circles. He believes that calligraphy etiquette is not only the rule of calligraphy, but also the rule of being a man. Calligraphy etiquette is mainly reflected in the structure, pen use and composition of calligraphy, such as the density, width, height, vertical and horizontal retraction when using the pen, poor pressing, thickness, rigidity, linearity, shade, tilt up and down, left and right scanning, rhythm ups and downs, slowing down, etc., which are the mutual relations between calligraphy and etiquette. In addition, the aesthetic view of combining the art of war with calligraphy in the book is also very unique. The author points out that when a calligrapher creates a work, it is like a strategist fighting with the art of war. For example, Wei Shuo, the first teacher of Wang Xizhi, a famous calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, wrote a book "Bi Tu", comparing the writing requirements of seven strokes of calligraphy with the arrangement of soldiers on the battlefield to illustrate the rules of calligraphy.

Jing Shunyi teaches China calligraphy etiquette in Beijing.

Jing Shunyi, a famous calligrapher and calligraphy educator, edited and taught the ordinary and advanced classes of China Calligraphy Etiquette in Xicheng District Youth Science and Technology Museum. The content of the lecture is the calligraphy etiquette of official script, regular script, seal script, running script and cursive script.

Mr. Jing Shunyi explained the profound truth that "calligraphy education is etiquette education" in vivid and concise language, and pointed out: "Respecting, learning and abiding by the law means respecting, learning and observing the etiquette. Learning calligraphy, knowing etiquette, and being a man are the way to be a man, so calligraphy must be learned. "
