Zhang Xueliang likes collecting. He bought many treasures from all over the world, including paintings, books, ancient books and so on, which are very valuable. Among them, there is a silk book "Peach Blossom Map" drawn by Xie Yuan, a painter in the Southern Song Dynasty. This painting is elegant and exquisite, which can be called a masterpiece of court painting in the Song Dynasty. In particular, Zhang Xueliang has collected this painting for nearly 70 years, which shows that he cherishes famous paintings. This painting was finally auctioned at NT$ 6,543,806,550.
Zhang Xueliang often travels around for "treasure hunting" and then travels around with many of his collections. He spread and collected treasures from various cultural relics markets, such as his nautical charts, Dong Yuan's landscape scrolls, Guo's cold forest maps, and his letters.
In addition, by chance, Zhang Xueliang and Zhang Daqian became close friends, and Zhang Daqian gave some of his paintings to Zhang Xueliang, such as "Canoe on the Lake and Mountain" and "Autumn Sound Map".
However, Zhang Xueliang's most precious collection and his deepest regret is Wang Xianzhi's running script Bennett Post. This collection was taken away by the Japanese army from the Dashuai Mansion in Shenyang in the September 18th Incident, and it is still in the Japanese Museum, which makes many people feel sorry for it. Zhang Xueliang was also obsessed with this before his death.
