How to choose an artistic pen

Matters needing attention in choosing artistic pen:

First, the pen tip

1, bending length: the greater the bending length, the larger the writable size. If well controlled, the writing size can be large or small, which is very flexible. However, some art pens do not pay enough attention to this point, and the bending length is only 1 ~ 2mm, especially some new brand gift pens that only pay attention to packaging (the price is often very expensive). When choosing, it is best to reach 2 ~ 3 mm.

2. Bending angle: This is related to personal writing habits. Generally speaking, the correct pen holding posture is that the thumb and forefinger hold the pen, the middle finger assists, and the ring finger and the little finger bend. The penholder usually leans against the root of the index finger (the largest joint), and the finger is about one inch away from the pen tip. Generally speaking, calligraphy lovers like to use one stroke for multiple purposes, even for writing and calligraphy creation, and for artistic tips. In daily writing, if the finger is far from the tip of the pen or the pen is close to the tiger's mouth, you can write big characters, so the bending angle is about 50 degrees (when trying to write, the pen can write small characters by the root of the index finger and big characters by the tiger's mouth). The degree is too small, so it is inconvenient to write big characters. At present, the tip of most art pens is bent too much (some even reach 90 degrees), and the consequence of this pen is that it is impossible to write small words every day.

3. Is it a golden tip? Based on my personal experience in using artistic pens, I resolutely refuse to use artistic pens with golden tips. Its elasticity is not suitable for artistic pens. Artistic pens rely on the control of the contact surface to achieve the effect, while straight-pointed pens are more suitable for golden tips, and its elasticity helps to achieve more obvious thickness changes.

Second, the inking system.

Long ago, pens were all ink systems with fixed hoses. I still have some pens (such as Hero 6 16). This inking system often affects the beauty of some sharp pens, so the detachable inker is very popular. ① Detachable hose inking device. The inking capacity of this inking device is only 1/3, and the artistic pen stores ink. (2) Screw or pull rod inker ensures the beauty of the nib, convenient inking and large ink storage.

Third, the weight of the pen.

People who like calligraphy often like a slightly heavier pen. Some manufacturers like to make the pen body heavier, cut corners on the material of the pen body, and use heavier screws on the top of the pen cover to increase the overall weight of the pen. In fact, this can not only enhance the feel, but also make the writing easy to lose balance. The pen is not blindly heavy, but should pay attention to the feel of writing. The cap must not be too heavy. It's best to use a pen cap to keep the center of gravity of writing still. The pen is too heavy.

Fourth, the pen holding area.

Because the quality of plastic products of some manufacturers is not up to standard, cracks often appear in the grip area of original plastic products. Nowadays, most pens are made of steel, copper or other alloys. Be careful not to choose too smooth one, otherwise it will also affect the feel of holding the pen, and writing for a long time will also lead to fatigue.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) brand choice

At present, most of the artistic pens on the market are domestic brands. The national brand is labeled as "artistic pen", which is actually a wide-pointed pen, which is not suitable for Chinese daily writing and calligraphy creation. There are many domestic brands, but brands are not the main ones. I have a few art pens that are not big brands but are easy to write. If you give them away, you should pay attention to their brands.
