Zhangxiang Dog Meat
Zhangxiang has a famous historical dish - dog meat. People who have been to Zhangxiang or know Zhangxiang are all talking about it. Although I dare not say that he is famous all over the world, he is known to everyone in Fengcheng or a larger area. People in Zhangxiang like to keep dogs. Every household has a dog. At present, in Zhangxiang rural area, due to the large-scale pig raising, there may not be a single pig in a village, but every household has several dogs. Outsiders would not dare to enter the village rashly if they are not accompanied by locals, because the dog welcome team is really big and warm. People in Zhangxiang like to eat dog meat, and it has a long history that can be traced back to the Tang and Song Dynasties. Dog meat is a delicacy and an excellent aphrodisiac. If the dog meat is rolled three times, the gods will not be able to stand still; if the dog meat is steamed, Lu Dongbin will be greedy. When winter comes, dog meat is on the market in large quantities, and eating dog meat in winter is a great supplement. Nowadays, dog meat is also eaten in June, which is said to be nourishing in winter and cool in summer. People in Zhangxiang are good at eating dog meat. Zhangxiang’s dog meat is different. Dog meat in other places is sold raw, while dog meat in Zhangxiang is sold cooked; dog meat in other places is sold half-cooked, while dog meat in Zhangxiang is sold fully cooked; dog meat in other places is cooked, while dog meat in Zhangxiang is sold cooked. It's steamed. The taste is indeed special. I feel that my writing is too bald and I can't find the right words to describe it. Only by tasting it can I appreciate its delicious taste. Due to the large number of people eating it, the sales volume was high, so there was a dog meat street in Zhangxiang Market Town, where more than 100 dogs could be sold a day. On the dog meat street, there are stalls one after another, and dog meat is piled next to each other. It is steaming, fragrant, and exudes the temptation of seduction. The vendors never yelled, and each one waited for the customers leisurely and confidently, as if the emperor's daughter was not worried about getting married.
It is very special for people in Zhangxiang to eat dog meat. People rush to the streets, and around noon, they go to the store to buy a few taels of white wine, and go to the dog meat stall to buy half a catty of dog meat, cut it into thin slices, take a sip of wine, and chew it with the bowl, soy sauce, and chili powder from the dog meat stall. A piece of original dog meat dipped in soy sauce is delicious, sizzling and sizzling. It makes your whole body feel hot after eating it. It not only overcomes the soju addiction, but also tastes the taste of dog meat, and it doesn't cost much. If you are not too shy and have had enough wine and food, you can buy a pound or two, hold it in your hand, burp, smell the fragrance, and go home to reward the young and old in the family. The entire dog meat street is like a food festival, with crowds of people and the aroma filling the air. Passers-by will most likely be stopped by this scene and sit down to feast.
Snacks summarized by locals:
Fried noodles have a long history in Fengcheng. In fact, they are a specialty of Nanchang and are directly labeled as "Nanchang fried noodles" However, in the eyes of Fengcheng people, it has long been their own craft. Fried rice noodles are sold in various stalls and food stalls that appear at regular intervals to mid-to-high-end restaurants and hotels. Some even call them "Nanchang Fried Rice Noodles". It was changed to "Fengcheng Fried Noodles".
Fried pancakes are my personal favorite.
The two restaurants across from each other in the town have become one, and they were only sold when students were in school. What's even more pitiful is that the fried cakes are not the main product, they have been replaced by boiled (this idiot said). . . I remember that there used to be three restaurants in Lujia Alley. In addition to the two in the town, there was also another one near the second primary school. The two that disappeared were all very large. What a pity! Other places selling pancakes include: Fengfan one (sometimes located opposite Boya), one at the entrance of Wuqian Lane (a red light street:)), one on Xilu Street, one or two on Dongfanghong Street, Renmin There are one or two on the road, and there is another one on the road to Shahu Park. I don't know about the rest, if anyone knows, please say hello. Another reason why he likes to eat fried pancakes is that he usually also fried pumpkin pancakes, sesame balls (which is Wuhan’s Happy Tutu), Jiaoluo and so on. You must know that middle school and high school came to eat pancakes.
What impressed me most was the barbecue. I went there with my friends every day for a period of time in high school. The barbecue and drinks in the street garden were very delicious in my impression. I remember that I always had to eat there before. I was told to put more ketchup, the beef skewers were grilled to a very high standard and the fried rice cakes made me drool just thinking about it! But now I am very disappointed. The variety is also very few. I only dare to drink fruit juice as a drink. After drinking milk tea once, I dare not have it a second time. . .
I ate more Shuizhuan in my first and second years of high school. It seems that it only started to be sold in junior high school. This product is similar to Chuanchuan Xiang in Wuhan, and it’s more expensive than Chuanchuan Xiang and doesn’t have as many varieties, but the sweet potato starch and mushrooms are pretty good.
Let’s list all the others at once: mutton skewers sold by people in Xinjiang, glutinous rice cakes, eight-treasure porridge and ice cream sold from push carts, tea eggs, rice dumplings, steamed cakes, and a kind of cylinder whose name I have forgotten. In the middle of the shape is a red cake, as well as Shaoxing's signature stinky tofu and Lanzhou ramen. . . . . .
