Xu Beihong is respected.

Reasons why Xu Beihong is respected:

Xu Beihong is a master of modern realistic painting in China. Xu Beihong is well versed in Chinese and Western painting, oil painting, sketch and calligraphy. Kang Youwei is known as a genius in painting. Premier Zhou Enlai commented that Xu Beihong's works combined the techniques of ancient and modern China and foreign countries, and his oil paintings and sketches also had a national style. He is a master of art in his own life. Xu Beihong's pen and ink are dripping, and the steed is especially appreciated and loved by people. It is a typical representative and symbol of China's painting. Xu Beihong's great personality and superhuman perseverance and wisdom set an excellent example for China and even the world.

There are many works handed down by Xu Beihong, and the representative works of Chinese painting are: Nine Square Heights, Gong Yu Mountain, Spring Rain on Lijiang River, Tagore Statue, Running Horse, etc.

Xu Beihong is also an outstanding art educator. He has devoted himself to art education since his youth. From 19 18, Cai Yuanpei was hired as the tutor of Peking University Painting Research Association. 1928 co-founded Shanghai Nanguo Art Institute with Tian Han and served as the head of the art department, and then went to Peking University Art Institute and CUHK Nanjing. After 1949, I went to Beiping Art Institute and Central Academy of Fine Arts. He devoted his whole life's enthusiasm and artistic talent to the cause of art education and made great contributions to art education.

Xu Beihong has many respectable examples, among which the following impressed me deeply:

Xu Beihong 1942 The traditional Chinese painting Ling Jiu is not for sale. The picture depicts two giant vultures perched on steep high rocks, with rigorous modeling and vigorous pen and ink. Especially in the exquisite and vivid description of the Griffin's claws, eyes and mouth, the character of the raptor is exposed, which is in contrast and combination with the pale blue mountains and rocks written in splash ink. The whole tone is harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

At that time, a senior American general who assisted the Kuomintang government took a fancy to this work, which is still unforgettable. Later, when War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression won and the American general was ready to return home with the meritorious military service, Chiang Kai-shek decided to give him a valuable gift to show his gratitude. When asked what he loved about China, the American general said that he wanted nothing but Mr. Xu Beihong's Vulture, so officials of the Kuomintang government came to Xu Beihong to sell his works, and Xu Beihong refused. In order to accomplish their mission, they repeatedly asked Xu Beihong, suggesting that no matter how tall Xu Beihong was, he could be paid, but he refused. This exquisite work is now in the Xu Beihong Memorial Hall.

1946, Xu Beihong came to Beiping as the president of Beiping Art College. He hired many influential and capable outstanding artists to teach in the school. In view of the weakness of art teaching in China, he attaches importance to strict basic training, emphasizes that sketch is the basis of plastic arts, and requires students to take it as their responsibility to express people's lives, rather than copying the ancients, and advocates the development and innovation of Chinese painting.

On the eve of liberation, the Kuomintang government sent a plane to pick up Xu Beihong and a group of famous professors to Nanjing, but Xu Beihong refused.

1949 in April, he attended the first world congress to defend peace as a representative of the new China. In the same year, he was appointed president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and elected president of the National Artists Association.

195 1 year, Xu Beihong went to the construction site of Shandong Daoshuzheng Project to experience life, painted many portraits of migrant workers, and prepared to create a huge oil painting "Contemporary New Gong Yu". During my composition, I suddenly had a cerebral hemorrhage and was paralyzed.

1953, when Xu Beihong was able to get up and act, he went to the Central Academy of Fine Arts to give lessons to the graduating students and teachers' further education group. He felt that there was still a lot of knowledge to teach them, so he worked tirelessly to teach them, changed his plan, and completely forgot that he was still sick. On September 23, the second national congress of literary and art workers opened, and he served as executive chairman and presided over the meeting. He had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage that night and died on September 26th. Xu Beihong lived only 58 years old, and his life was greatly shortened, but his art and his love for the motherland and people from beginning to end remained forever. After Xu Beihong's death, his wife Liao collected all Xu Beihong's works 1, more than 200 pieces, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and modern paintings and calligraphy works 1, and Chinese and foreign art paintings and calligraphy. More than 0/0000 pieces of stele extension/kloc-were dedicated to the country.
