What are the biographies of Dong Qichang?
Dong Qichang (1555~ 1636) was born in Dong Jiahui, Shanghai (now Shanghai) and Nanzhi. He is a calligrapher, painter and theorist who has made outstanding contributions to calligraphy, landscape painting, art appreciation and art theory. He passed HKCEE at the age of 17, but he came second because of his good writing. Deeply stimulated, Dong Qichang made a determined effort to practice calligraphy and painting, and eventually became everyone. His calligraphy structure is naive, beautiful and elegant. After a hundred years in Zhao Mengfu's charming and mature "pine snow body", he found a new way to dominate the book world. His landscape paintings are unique and vivid, with special emphasis on the skills of using ink. Ink painting is good at splashing ink and cherishing ink. Dark and dry, natural and harmonious, with little pen and ink, but far-reaching artistic conception and endless charm. His creation has become a model for literati painting to pursue artistic conception.
