How did the official script come into being?

Lishu, also known as "Zuo Shu", was formed at the end of the Warring States Period and matured in the Han Dynasty. It is a further simplification of Xiao Zhuan. The development of Chinese font into official script has entered a new stage. Mature official script, the font is very close to regular script, and most people will not regard the official script of Yiying Monument as ancient Chinese characters. Therefore, the change from seal script to official script can be said to be a revolution in the evolution of China fonts. According to legend, the official script was originally a general emergency font for junior officials. After finishing by Cheng Miao, it gradually formed a unified official script font. The main characters used in the Han Dynasty were official scripts. Like the official script of Qin Dynasty, the official script of the early Western Han Dynasty was not as mature as the official script of Bafen after the middle Eastern Han Dynasty. However, it abandons the line form of the picture, adopts abstract symbols, has concise strokes, and replaces the circle with a square-folded stroke, showing the trend of transition from ancient Chinese characters to regular script. Eight-part essay appeared in the middle of the Eastern Han Dynasty, which showed people's interest in pursuing beauty and elegance at that time. Calligraphy came into being as an exquisite art. Eight-part essay has the following characteristics: the font is generally flat and square, with the ends of most strokes slightly upward, and the long horizontal painting slightly upward when closing the pen, forming an upward inclined tail. This is a combination of various twists and turns, beautiful fonts and convenient writing, which is conducive to the development of calligraphy art.
