Spring and autumn are the best. Early summer is also good, and winter is warmer. Around August every year, it is a typhoon-prone season, so we should pay more attention to the climate.
Leisure three-day tour
Highlights of the itinerary: Leisure
Xiamen is a leisurely city, and the so-called slow life is the enviable lifestyle of Xiamen. Only by staying for a few days and getting involved can you understand the essence.
DAY1
Xiamen University-Hulishan Fort-Huandao Road-Zhongshan Road
I visited Xiamen University first in the morning, which is known as "one of the most beautiful campuses in China". The main gate of Xiamen University is adjacent to the gate of Nanputuo Temple Scenic Area, and on the other side is the beautiful seaside beach and Hulishan Fort. You can play with Hulishan Fort on foot. Going out from Xiamen University Baicheng is Baicheng Beach, which can be used as the starting point of Huandao Road. In the afternoon, you can rent a bicycle and ride along Huandao Road. There are beautiful scenery along the way, and you can visit Zeng Cuo An Village, Calligraphy Square, Music Square and other small attractions along the way, as well as Taiwan Province Folk Culture Village and Mazu Tempel. Finally, it will arrive at Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Center, where it will be very lively whenever there are large-scale trade fairs, concerts and other activities.
Arrive at Zhongshan Road in the evening, which is a food shopping street. There are many local snacks in Xiamen, such as flat food, Satay Noodles and grass jelly, which can be tasted.
Dining: Taste authentic local snacks in Zhongshan Road.
Accommodation: There are some homestays near Xiamen University or Zeng Cuo An Village.
DAY2
Gulangyu-Hougang of Haoyueyuan-Beach-Xinzhuang Garden-Piano Museum
Take a boat to Gulangyu, take the coastal route, visit Haoyueyuan and relive Zheng Chenggong's glory; Follow the stone plank road to the bathing beach around the island, chase after the waves barefoot, write down your own words on the beach, sit on the reef and chat with friends, and have fun with the golden retriever dogs of the surrounding folk houses for a while ...
When the plank road around the island comes to an end, you will arrive at Liuzhuang Garden, visit the piano museum, see the courtyards in the south of the Yangtze River, and then look at the vast sea.
There are many family hotels on Gulangyu Island, and there are also some small hotels with unique customs. Choose one you like and get lost in Gulangyu Island tonight.
Dining:
You can solve the problem of dining in the small shops on both sides of Longtou Road for one day. You can also try the famous milk tea of Zhang Sanfeng's family and the cakes of Miss Zhao's family.
Accommodation:
There are many small hostels on the island, all of which are very distinctive. Just choose the one you like and feel comfortable.
DAY3
World Architecture-Expo Sunlight Rock-Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall-Piano Pier-Xiamen Underwater World
First, visit the architecture of various countries preserved on Gulangyu Island, and then go to Yuyuan Garden to learn about Lin Qiaozhi's life story and wish the deceased rest in peace at her grave.
After crossing some disordered paths in Gulangyu Island, I began to climb Sunlight Rock. Although the mountain is not high, it is enough to overlook the panoramic view of Gulangyu Island until the peak. The exquisite red roof and the occasionally visible characteristic buildings contrast with the lush vegetation and are beautiful. When you go down the mountain along the path, you can see the ruins of Zheng Chenggong's martial arts and some sculptures to commemorate Zheng Chenggong and his army. Return to the piano pier along the seaside path, visit Xiamen Underwater World next to the pier, and then plunge into Longtou Road to visit small shops and taste snacks. Just catch the last boat back at night after eating.
Catering:
The seafood in Longtou Road is a little expensive, but you can buy seafood and find a small kitchen to cook it yourself. I recommend the fried oyster at No.189, Longtou Road, and 1 yuan one, which is not bad. There is also Ye's hemp cake, which is a roadside stall with white turtles and hemp cakes.
Precautions for Xiamen tourism:
1. When you come to Xiamen to eat seafood, you must remember to bring antidiarrheal drugs, and don't be greedy.
2. Friends who like to eat supper had better not go out too late. The famous food stalls here are all excellent. If they go late, there will be few seafood varieties to choose from.
3. Every year around August, typhoons are frequent, so we should pay attention to the climate.
The best time to travel:
The best time to travel in Xiamen is spring and autumn, because the weather is refreshing and the temperature is pleasant, and many kinds of flowers in Xiamen mainly bloom in these two seasons.
Xia Dong is also a good choice. The weather in Xiamen is hot in summer, and it is usually above 3℃ in July and August, but the island tour at this time is particularly comfortable. In winter, Xiamen seems a little quiet, but the weather is relatively warm, which is also suitable for playing.
Shopping tips:
You need to be careful when buying dried seafood in Xiamen. In Gulangyu, the highest price for scallops is 98 yuan per catty, but after hard bargaining, you can win it for about 2 yuan. When buying shrimp, you should buy the best gold hook. Many shops use the shrimp of bighead shrimp as a gold hook, so you'd better taste it before buying it. The gold hook is very fresh, but it is not true if it is not fresh.
Tide calculation method in Xiamen:
On the first day and 15th day of the first month, there is a long tide at 12: noon. Then multiply it by 8 from grade three until 14, for example, today is grade five. It is 5*8=4, which is the tide at 4 pm. Today is the twelfth day of the lunar calendar, which is 12*8=96, and that is the tide at 9: 3. When you pass the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar, until the 29th day of the lunar calendar. Just subtract 15 from that number and multiply it by 8. For example, today is the 2th day of the lunar calendar, that is (2-15)*8=4, and that is the tide at 4 pm or 4 am.
