The Original Text and Appreciation of Huang Tingjian's Inscription and Postscript of Dongpo's Cold Food Poems

Dongpo's books are like Li Taibai's, but I'm afraid they are too white. This book was written by Yan, Yang and Li Xitai. It is not necessarily the same as this book if Dongpo wants it back. When I see this book about Dongpo in the future, Ying Xiao Wo will be respected where there is no Buddha.

-"The Legacy of Mr. yu zhang"

[Note] Yan: Yan Zhenqing, a famous calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, was called Yan by the world because he was the Duke of Lu. Yang: Yang Ningshi, a calligrapher in the Five Dynasties of the Later Zhou Dynasty, was named Yang. He was an official in the later Han Dynasty. Li Xitai: Li Jianzhong, a calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, loved Luoyang customs and asked Xijing to stay in Yushitai for many times, and was known as Li Xitai. Where there is no Buddha, it is called Zun: Song Shishuang, the Zen master of Ciming, went to Beijing to meet Li Zunxu, a captain. Li asked what he was doing when he left, and the teacher said: Where there is no Buddha, he is a Buddha. This is also the meaning of "Buddha-free respect", which means to show off one's talents where one has no ability.

Su Shi's calligraphy was not very respected at that time, and even was ridiculed a lot. Huang Tingjian was the first person to appreciate calligraphy with a unique eye. Su Shi's disciple, Ting Jian, not only admired the teacher's personality, knowledge and articles, but also had a unique evaluation of his own calligraphy, instead of following others' advice. The court also said, "Dongpo's book is charming and gratifying because of its greatness, truth and action." Today, most people like to criticize Dongpo. He used the line-ink ratio of Hanlin and Shishu to show that you know the law! I call Dongpo's book, learning and the spirit of the article, and Sandy's melancholy is between pen and ink, which others can't compare with. "It is pointed out that calligraphy should reflect the author's personality and show the author's character, knowledge and talent. Only in this way can it become a good work of art ... This opinion is certainly not for people who are used to reading popular books such as Hanlin and Shishu. It is understandable that Dongpo's calligraphy was not appreciated at that time.
