After the founding of New China, the three major Maotai distilleries, Laimao, Hua Mao and Elvis Presley, were all nationalized and established Kweichow Moutai Distillery, whose product Kweichow Moutai is known as the national wine. After the reform and opening up in the 1980s, 80-year-old Lai Guishan led his children and grandchildren to set up factories in Maotai Town for many times to revive their ancestral businesses. Under the leadership of his father Lai Guishan, Lai Shigang devoted himself to excavating liquor culture and technology, determined to carry forward Lai Mao culture and inherit Lai's family business, and successively registered more than ten liquor trademarks, including Lai Shigang, Lai Zonggui, Lai Jiamao, Lai Shen and Lai Yu. Because the product strictly follows the tradition and formula of Lai Mao wine initiated by his father, it is put on the market.
