Personal experience
Wang Xunduan likes dancing and writing ink since he was a child. When he was in middle school, a Chinese teacher who wrote with pen and ink gave him great encouragement and made him practice calligraphy more diligently. Influenced by Xie, a famous calligrapher in the county, Wang Xunduan copied the famous posts of famous artists in past dynasties. Han Wei, Jin Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming and Qing Dynasties all learned from others, understood the true meaning and enjoyed themselves. From 65438 to 0970, Wang Xunduan worked as a soldier, dealing with newspaper boards, wall newspapers and people every day. Every time someone praises him for his good handwriting, his interest in practicing calligraphy is aroused even more. No matter how busy and tired he is at work, he always takes time out every day to insist on painting and calligraphy practice. In addition to meeting the needs of life, the money he sends every month is saved to use the opportunity of going out every weekend to buy books and materials on painting and calligraphy in Xinhua Bookstore in the county. Many things happen. Wang Xunduan quickly emerged in the army and won the first prize in the calligraphy exhibition held by 19 Army. This encouraged Wang Xunduan even more. Since then, he has worked harder and his works have been published in the People's Liberation Army Daily, People's Army Daily and other newspapers. 1985, Wang Xunduan jumped ship to the local area. He collected more rubbings, sought teachers and friends, and studied all kinds of rubbings harder. His great efforts can be described as a pool of ink. He knows that in his calligraphy career, the art of pen and ink ultimately depends on the cultural background. He tried his best to ask Professor Zhu Naizheng from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and other famous artists for guidance, from quantitative change to qualitative change, from gradual repair to epiphany, which thoroughly penetrated the connotation of calligraphy, formed his own unique calligraphy style and moved towards a mature realm. 1996, after he was appointed as the first president of Zhangye Painting and Calligraphy Institute, he used all his spare time to travel all over Zhangye's mountains and rivers, speeding up the pace of creation. Because of his obsession with calligraphy and perfect attitude towards art, he overcame all kinds of difficulties in the creative process, constantly studied and improved, repeatedly considered every work, devoted himself wholeheartedly, and was tempted with a pen. Every work flows from his own chest, which is quite interesting.
As a painter and calligrapher, Wang Xunduan clearly realized that in order to truly inherit and carry forward the precious wealth left by predecessors and make a little contribution to society, there must be a spirit of persistent pursuit of artistic career, a spirit of indifferent fame and fortune and silent cultivation. For many years, he regarded art as his life, integrated calligraphy and painting into his blood, took his persistent pursuit of art as an inexhaustible motive force for his creation, devoted himself to the research and creation of art, abandoned secular influences, deeply rooted in the fertile soil of northwest culture, studied traditional calligraphy culture, and combined with regional characteristics, injected joy, anger, sadness and joy in life, as well as understanding and love for society and nature into his calligraphy creation.
Characteristics of works
