What are the characteristics of brush in Qin Dynasty?

The biggest feature of Qin Dynasty's brush is that it takes bamboo as the tube, which was initiated by Meng Tian, the general of Qin Dynasty, and then passed down by his subordinates, and gradually spread to the whole country.

"Meng Tian pen" is Qin pen. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, there was no unified name for writing instruments. It was not until the Qin Dynasty that "pen" officially became the title of writing tool, which coincides with the explanation of pen by Xu Shen, a writer in the Eastern Han Dynasty. He said, "Qin refers to pen, Chu refers to Yu, Wu refers to irregularity, and Yan refers to Fu." It can be seen that the name of the pen has not been unified since Qin Dynasty.

In addition to the above representative works, the brush calligraphy in Qin dynasty also has characters such as imperial edict, weight, tile, currency and so on, with different styles. Calligraphy in Qin Dynasty left a brilliant page in the history of calligraphy in China, with great boldness and pioneering spirit. Meng Tian invented and improved the writing brush in Qin Dynasty, and wrote a glorious page in the history of Chinese writing brush.
