Zheng Xie, a native of Daduo, Xinghua, Jiangsu, was an official, scholar and calligrapher in Qing Dynasty. One of the eight eccentrics in Yangzhou. His poems, books and paintings are outstanding and unique, and he is known as the "three musts" in the world. He is good at painting orchids, bamboos, stones, pines, chrysanthemums and other plants, among which bamboo painting has been more than 50 years, with the most outstanding achievements. Banqiao died on December 12th, 30th year of Qianlong, and was buried in Ruanzhuang, Chengguan, xinghua city, at the age of 73. Banqiao's two sons died young, and his cousin Zheng Mo's son Chen Tiansi succeeded him to the throne.
