During the Republic of China, what was the history of the Baohe Plank Road in Hanzhong? Urgent! Urgent!

In the Qinling Mountains, the earliest plank road connecting Guanzhong and Hanzhong is the Baoxie Ancient Road. It crosses the Qinling Mountains from Xieshui in Guanzhong (today’s Shitou River in Mei County) along the valley and mountains, and starts from Hanzhong. The Baohe River flows out from the north of the city. During the Warring States Period, in order to unify Bashu and Bashu, the Qin State greatly renovated the Baoxie Ancient Road and built the Baoxie Plank Road. The Baoxie Plank Road greatly enhanced the strength of the Qin State and accelerated the process of unifying China. It was the main artery connecting the central dynasty with the southwest region. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, Baoxie Plank Road was the only way for soldiers and horses to travel, and it was also an important route for merchants to travel from north to south.

Today’s Baoxie Plank Road has been eroded over the years. The majesty of the ancient road that meandered through the Qinling Mountains has long since disappeared. Only the plank road’s stone-cutting and stone-laying supports and the stone holes in the road still clearly record that period of history. . Among them, the ruins of the ancient plank roads in Qingqiaoyi, Madao Town, Wuguanyi Town and Jiangkou Town in Liuba County are intact; the inscriptions of "Hanxi Rising at Night", "Xiao He, the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty, chasing Han Xin here" and the newly renovated plank road are closely related to the Baoxie Plank Road. "Fengming Zen Temple" still exists in the world and has become an important historical material for the investigation and study of ancient plank roads.

When the Baohe Reservoir was built in 1971, the stone gate that witnessed the wisdom of the ancients among the remains of the plank road was submerged in the ocean. After 2000, renovation and restoration of the historical plank road began.
