Highlight 1: Peony varieties
Peonies cultivated in Jingshan With a long history, it is the premier peony viewing spot in Beijing. There are 569 peony varieties at home and abroad, and more than 20,000 peonies, covering nine major colors and ten major flower types.
Original peonies:
There are 346 varieties of peonies in the Central Plains, including traditional peonies in royal gardens, the famous Luoyang peonies and Heze peonies; there are 109 precious varieties of peonies in northwest China. As the temperature tends to be more stable than in previous years, the flowering period of famous mid- to early-maturing flowers such as King of Flowers Yaohuang, Zhaofen, Yingrihong, and Erqiao Bicolor has advanced. Those with the reputation of "boy face" are obviously growing earlier than in previous years and are growing well.
New peonies:
In recent years, more than 1,300 Chinese and foreign varieties of peonies have been replanted in Dongmen Peony Variety Garden, Popular Science Gardening Center, and the south side of Qiwang Tower, adding more Red clouds, roses, blooming mountain flowers, verdant blue, purple palace, unicorn stone, white god, laurel tree, new national colors.
Black peonies:
In order to enrich the peony colors and extend the peony flowering period, ornamental black peonies such as "Wu Chu" and "Black Panther" that are widely praised by tourists have also been introduced.
