Gan Tang Garden, located in the north street of the former Shaanxi ancient city in Shaanxi Scenic Area, Sanmenxia, Henan Province, was built with huge investment by Mr. Wu Qimin, a private entrepreneur. The garden started construction in 1999 and was completed and opened to the public in April 21. Covering an area of 18 mu, the building area is more than 13, square meters. It is a tourist attraction built on the original site, which integrates human landscape and garden art. Today, Gan Tang Garden and Bell and Drum Tower are skillfully connected as a whole, adhering to the legacy of ancient temples, with pavilions, winding water, strange rocks and bamboo carvings, and embossed plaques, which are beautiful.
Gan Tang Garden, also known as Zhao Gong Temple, was built on the site of the original Zhao Gong Temple. At the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty, King Wu died, and the young king became king. Two uncles of Zhou Chengwang, Duke Zhou and Zhao Gong, ruled Shaanxi, and assisted in the court affairs. "Duke Zhou ran Luo and called the princess Shaanxi." Zhao Gong's surname is Ji Ming Xuan (shi), a famous politician in the early Western Zhou Dynasty, and one of the three fairs. Because Zhao Gong sympathized with the people's feelings, he was deeply loved by the people. Later, people donated money to build the Zhao Gong Temple, and Gan Tang tree was planted in the courtyard to show the memory of Zhao Gong. Therefore, Shaanxi County is also known as the Old Governance of Gan Tang County. Poets of past dynasties also wrote poems in praise of emotion. Han Xiong said: "The willow trees on the spring bridge should be in full bloom, and Gan Tang in ancient county also made flowers."
The plaque "Gan Tang Garden" was nominated by Li Ruihuan, the former chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and inscribed by Aisingiorro Fuzuo, a Manchu royal family. Mr. Ru Gui, a famous calligrapher, inscribed the couplets with four characters: "Advocating a clean and honest style, making the pearls round and smooth every year, keeping up with the people's wishes" and "Honest and upright style" on the east wall. On the left, Fan Ceng, a famous painter, wrote "The Legacy of Gan Tang and the Portrait of Zhao Gong". There is a lake stone in the garden, which is similar to the shadow wall of an ancient building. This huge stone weighs 25 tons and is naturally formed by long-term erosion of the lake. Looking carefully, its shape seems to be like a non-elephant, like a dragon. When the sun shines directly, it will be like a cloud in the haze, and Yunlong will fly, and the mystery of "elephant invisibility" will arise. Zhang Gaoshan, vice chairman of Henan Book Association, happily wrote "Elephant is invisible". Elephant is a symbol of good luck, which symbolizes the Chinese nation's national peace, political integrity and harmony. The "Holy Site for a Thousand Years" on the pedestal of the boulder shows that Saint Zhao Gong once lived here, and also hopes that Gan Tang Garden will become a holy site to commemorate Zhao Gong and carry forward the spirit of Zhao Gong. Let Zhao Gong's spirit remain immortal, and love the future generations.
