Three Zhangs, Two Lus, Two Pans and One Left refers to several poets and writers in the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty. 1. Zhang Zai

Zhang Zai was born in Anping (now Anping, Hebei). The year of birth and death is unknown. He has an elegant personality and is knowledgeable. He once held the posts of Zuozhu Lang, Zuozhu Lang, Record Office Supervisor, and Zhongshu Shilang. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the world was in chaos, so he returned home due to illness. Zhang Zai and his younger brothers Zhang Xie and Zhang Kang were both famous for their literature and were known as "Three Zhangs" at that time.

2. Zhang Xie

Zhang Xie (?~307?), whose courtesy name was Jingyang. Western Jin Dynasty writer, native of Anping (now Anping, Hebei Province). His father, Zhang Shou, was the governor of Shu County. Zhang Xie was as talented as his elder brother Zhang Zai.

He once served as a public servant, secretary, and Huayang order. In the first year of Yongning (301), he worked as a lieutenant to Sima Ying, the king of Chengdu and the general who conquered the north. Later, he moved to the minister of Zhongshu, where he was responsible for the internal history of Hejian and the administration of the county.

In the last years of Emperor Hui's reign, the world was in chaos. He resigned from office and lived in seclusion, amusing himself with chanting. In the early years of Yongjia, he was appointed as Huangmen's Minister again, but he couldn't do it because of illness. He later died at home.

3. Zhang Kang

Zhang Kang, courtesy name Jiyang, was born in Guanjin, Anping (now Anping County, Hebei Province). His birth and death years are unknown. His father, Zhang Shou, served as the prefect of Shu County during the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty. Zhang Kang is the younger brother of Zhang Zai and Zhang Xie, and one of the "Three Zhangs".

In the early years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (around 318 AD), Zhang Kang crossed south and became the Minister of Sanqi. Xun Song recommended him to serve as Zuo Zuosu Lang, to supplement Wucheng Ling, and to serve as a regular servant of Sanqi, and to serve as Zuo Zuo Lang again.

Although Zhang Kang's literary talents are not as good as those of his two brothers, he still has writings and is proficient in music and acting skills. Together with Zhang Zai and Zhang Xie, he is known as the "Three Zhangs". An article called "Li Zan", the original biography of "Jin Shu" is said to be found in "Lu Li Zhi", but it is not specified. "Books of the Sui Dynasty" records two volumes of "Collections of Zhang Kang, the Changshi of Jin Sanqi", and two volumes of "Collections of Zhang Kang" are recorded in two "Books of Tang", which have been lost.

4. Lu Ji

Lu Ji (261-303), courtesy name Shiheng, was a native of Wu County, Wu County (now Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). A famous writer and calligrapher in the Western Jin Dynasty. Born in the Lu family of Wu County, he was the grandson of Prime Minister Lu Xun of Sun Wu and the fourth son of Grand Sima Lu Kang. Together with his younger brother Lu Yun, he was known as the "Er Lu", and together with Gu Rong and Lu Yun, he was also known as the "Three Heroes of Luoyang".

Lu Ji is "a rare genius, and his writing is the best in the world." Together with his younger brother Lu Yun, he was a famous writer in the Western Jin Dynasty and was known as the "Hero of Taikang".

Both Pan Yue and Pan Yue are representatives of the Western Jin Dynasty poetry circle, forming the "Taikang Poetry Style", known as "Pan Jiang Lu Hai" in the world. Lu Ji was also good at calligraphy, and his "Pingfu Tie" is the earliest authentic calligraphy of a famous person in the Middle Ages.

5. Lu Yun

Lu Yun (262-303), courtesy name Shilong, was a native of Huating (now Songjiang, Shanghai), Wu County, Wu County. He lived from the late period of Soochow to the early Western Jin Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period. A young writer and official, he is the grandson of Lu Xun, the prime minister of Eastern Wu, and the fifth son of Grand Sima Lu Kang. Together with his brother Lu Ji, they were collectively known as "Er Lu". He once served as the internal historian of Qinghe, and was known as "Lu Qinghe" in his later life.

Lu Yun has a lot of poems in his collection, more than 130 of which are mostly four-character poems. Most of them are praise and entertainment, empty and mediocre. There are not many words in them, but they do have certain characteristics, such as "Answer to Brother Pingyuan's Poems" and "Answer to Zhang Shiran's Poems", both of which are clear, clear and emotional.

6. Pan Yue

Pan Yue (247-300), also known as Pan An, with the courtesy name Anren, was born in Zhongmu, Henan. Grandfather Pan Jin was the prefect of Anping. His father, Pan Phi, was the internal history of King Lang's teeth.

Pan An was a writer and politician in the Western Jin Dynasty. Meiziyi is known as "the most beautiful man in ancient times". He was known for his intelligence when he was young, and the villagers called him a strange boy. After Sima Yanjian was promoted to Jin Dynasty, he was summoned by Sikong Xunkai and awarded the title of Sikong Tu.

Because he wrote "Fu Tian Fu", he was jealous of everyone, so he was detained for ten years without promotion. In the fourth year of Xianning (278), Jia Chong summoned Pan Yue to serve as Taiwei. Later, he became the magistrate of Heyang County and had great political achievements. He ordered peach blossoms to be planted all over the county, hence the saying "Heyang County Flower".

7. Penny

Penny (about 250 AD - about 311 AD), courtesy name Zhengshu, was born in Zhongmu, Xingyang (in today's Dapanzhuang, Chengguan Town, Zhongmu, Henan Province) Man, writer of the Western Jin Dynasty. His grandfather Pan Xu was the prime minister of the East China Sea in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and his father Pan Man was the internal historian of the plains. The nephew of Western Jin Dynasty writer Pan Yue (also known as Pan An).

A rare talent, he and Pan Yue are both famous for their articles, and they are also known as "Two Pans". Penny was a calm and indifferent person who did not compete with others for profit. He studied with peace of mind and devoted himself to writing.

8. Zuo Si

Zuo Si (about 250-305), whose courtesy name was Taichong. The "Book of Jin" was written as Taichong. There was no Tai character shape at that time, so the tombstone should be the correct one. , see the "Related Controversies" section below for details), a native of Linzi, Qi State (now Zibo, Shandong), and a famous writer in the Western Jin Dynasty.

His "Sandu Fu" was highly praised at the time, causing "Luoyang paper to be expensive". In addition, his "Epic Ode" and "Poetry of a Beautiful Girl" are also famous. The language of his poetry is simple and concise. Later generations compiled "Zuo Taichong Collection".
