Suzhou Liuyuan and Netscape Garden couplets
There is a couplet written by Zheng Banqiao in Zhuoying Shuili of the Master Garden: "It used to be colorful; Yucun is excited. " Its calligraphy, artistic conception and craftsmanship are all excellent, and it can be called a treasure in Suzhou gardens. Zheng Banqiao is one of the famous "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou" and has a long history with gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. His ink paintings, couplets, calligraphy and painting are all in Yangzhou, Nanjing, Xinghua, Nantong and other gardens, which is quite interesting. His calligraphy is written in official script, and he calls himself "six and a half books", which is well known all over the world. This pair of couplets in Master Wang's Garden is strong and smooth, simple and elegant, and won its rhyme. Although there are only eight words, even the allusions of four famous people in history are used. The first part is the Confucian standard of "virtue", and the second part is an example of "cherishing time". Such a compact and meaningful couplet can be described as turning stone into gold. Yellow paste technique was first popular in Fujian, and was introduced to Jiangsu and Zhejiang in the middle of Qing Dynasty. There are not many works preserved in Suzhou. Generally speaking, Chinese fir or ginkgo biloba use vermicelli and black paint as the yellow base, but the black base is the most. Occasionally based on Guangqi and Baichuan Board. It is made of two layers of bamboo strips, commonly known as "bamboo green", cut into strips according to the graphic size required by the plaque, polished and glued to the bottom plate with gelatin (fish glue) as adhesive. Then rub it with walnut oil to make it shine, which fully shows the texture of bamboo sticks, and the black (Zhu) is very eye-catching. There are many regular lines in folk yellow paste works, such as patterns. Calligraphy and pictures are particularly precious because of their dark ink color and different line widths, especially the requirements of splicing, which can not leave traces, and the technical operation is very difficult. Yellow paste technology has been lost frequently in modern times.
