Comprehensive materials, materials for painting.

Emulsion. It is a mixture of oil and water, which can be used for color matching and can be easily compatible with oil painting pigments to increase its thickness. The drying speed is faster than that of oil alone, especially the color layer is cured quickly. Good emulsion color matching can completely cure the color layer within two minutes, and can continue to cover the new color layer to make a heavy texture. This is the method used by Rembrandt. However, there are many formulations and methods for making emulsions. Rembrandt has been lost, and later generations have not yet figured out why.

In the 1990s, there was a book "Research on Painting Materials" written by Pang Tao, which she learned from Binkas in the technique studio of French Academy of Fine Arts, with detailed methods for making Binkas latex. After all, water and oil are insoluble things, and their specific gravity and tension are different. To mix them into emulsion, the production method must be very particular.

There is a component in Binkas emulsion, which is methyl cellulose, also called cellulose methyl ether. You must go to the chemical store to buy it. If you can buy it, consider learning to do it again. You can't do it without it.
