From the age of 50 to 70, he traveled all over the famous mountains and rivers, leaving many sketches. After 70 years old, his painting style changed greatly, and his works were unique. He likes to use Jiao Mo and thick ink. Based on years of practice, he summed up the brushwork of "flat, round, heavy and changeable" and the brushwork of "thick, light, broken, splashed, burned, accumulated and fixed", which has high theoretical value in art. Proficient in poetry, seal cutting, calligraphy, cultural relics identification, art history, etc. Judging from the contents of his paintings, they are all based on pen and ink, which makes people never tire of seeing them, and the more they look, the more connotation they have. Huang Yisheng wrote a lot of works, including The Origin of Huangshan Painters, An Introduction to Painters, On Lu Hong's Painting, The Painting Collection of Caotang, Quotations of Hong Bin's Painting, An Introduction to China's Painting and Hong Bin's Painting Collection. He also systematically studied and introduced the Xin 'an School of Painting, which greatly enriched the historical materials of China's paintings.
Qi Baishi is a master of modern painting with high attainments in all aspects. His paintings, poems, calligraphy and seal cutting are all unfamiliar. His artistic creation is extremely rich, and his creative style has great influence on modern and even contemporary Chinese painting. Qi Baishi, formerly known as Chunzhi, has a green word. When he was a child, his name was A Zhi. When he was old, he was named Baishi and Baishi Weng, and he was also named Pingping, Laoping and Lithographic Rich Man. He is from Xiangtan, Hunan. When he was a child, his family was poor and his parents were farmers. His woodcarving broke through the old rules and created many new patterns. At the age of 27, Qi Baishi began to learn painting, writing poetry and seal cutting. When we first met, Qi Baishi painted a grasshopper for Mei Lanfang, and Mei Lanfang sang a lady to Qi Baishi. Elected as deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of China Artists Association. 1955, the German Democratic Republic awarded him the title of exchange academician of the German Democratic Republic Art Institute. 1956, the World Peace Council awarded him the Peace Prize.
