A Gao Qiao appeared across the clouds and asked about the fishing boat on the west side of the rock.
Peach blossoms flow all day. Which side of Qingxi is the entrance of Taoyuan Cave?

Tao Yuanming fictionalized an isolated place named Peach Blossom Spring in The Story of Peach Blossom Spring. According to his description, there is a stream outside the Peach Blossom Garden, with "Peach Blossom Forest" on both sides and hundreds of steps in the middle. There are no miscellaneous trees, delicious grass and colorful flowers. According to legend, Taohuaxi is located in Taoyuan County, Hunan Province. The Peach Blossom Creek described in this poem does not necessarily refer to its location, but uses its artistic conception on the basis of the original story.
Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Garden" has aroused many people's reverie, and the life of "whether there are Han people or not, regardless of Wei and Jin Dynasties" has made people in war yearn for it. However, people's yearning for Xanadu is because people are dissatisfied with the world. It is not difficult to understand that people who have experienced the wars of the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty yearn for the Peach Blossom Garden. But why did Zhang Xu, who was in the flourishing age of Kaiyuan, write such a poem Peach Blossom Creek? This poem gives a good answer.
The meaning of this poem is: there is a small bridge on the misty peach blossom stream. The stream flows all day long, and there are countless peach blossoms floating on it. This can't help but remind people of Tao Yuanming's Peach Blossom Garden. Therefore, when I met a fisherman driving a boat by the rock, I couldn't help thinking that he might have come out of the Peach Blossom Spring and blurted out, "Where is the entrance of the Peach Blossom Spring in this stream?" Obviously, it was the beautiful scenery in front of me that made the author hallucinate that he had really arrived at Taohuaxi outside Taohuayuan. This is the climax of the author's aesthetic experience and the portrayal of the author's longing for a better and happier life. The author wrote such a poem in the prosperous era of Kaiyuan, which is the expression of the author's nature of pursuing beauty and ideals. He did not simply borrow Tao Yuanming's artistic conception, but expressed his higher life and aesthetic pursuit through Tao Yuanming's artistic conception.
Extended Reading: Zhang Xu's Calligraphy Thought
In the aspect of calligraphy thought, Zhang Xu advocated learning from nature and emphasized seeking inspiration from nature and human social life. In Zhang Xu's eyes, all natural images and all traces of life are the objects of learning from nature, which can inspire his creative inspiration. [2] According to historical records, Zhang Xu enriched the thought of cloth and white structure from "striving for Tao", gained inspiration from "advocating" for the speed, weight, richness and thickness of brushwork, and found the compact, powerful, reasonable and ethereal charm of wild grass calligraphy from "sword dance", which made the calligraphy have a qualitative change. From these records, we can see that Zhang is good at observing objective things, combining objective natural images with personal subjective feelings, and understanding the way of calligraphy from all kinds of beings in nature. It is a combination of objectivity and subjectivity, and the combination of natural beauty and artistic beauty just fits the "natural" way in Laozi and Zhuangzi's thoughts. With the eyes of a real artist, Zhang Xu searched for symbols corresponding to his emotions and personality in nature and life, integrated the situation of all things in the world with his subjective modality, painted wantonly, and used techniques as the means of spiritual expression, thus turning everything in technology into Tao and everything into his own artistic language, and finally formed the expression form and style of Wild Grass flying wildly.
