Does China National Painting and Calligraphy Institute belong to the Ministry of Culture?

China National Painting Academy is a public welfare institution directly under the Ministry of Culture. It is a national research, creation and painter training institution integrating Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal cutting, oil painting, sculpture and printmaking. Its predecessor was 1977+02, a Chinese painting creation group approved by the State Council in June. Under the direct concern of the central leadership, the Chinese Painting Research Institute was formally established in June19811. In June 2006, it was renamed China National Painting Academy.

China National Academy of Painting has nine departments, including creative research department, theoretical research department, teaching and training department, art exchange department, China National Academy of Painting office, personnel department, finance department, general affairs department and art museum, with more than 60 staff. Among them, there are more than 40 professional creative and theoretical researchers, all of whom have deputy senior titles or above, and they are a creative and research team in the prime of life. In addition, there is an outsourcing unit under the teacher-student friendship department of the National Academy of Painting, which was jointly established by the National Academy of Painting and Inner Mongolia Donglian Painting and Calligraphy Museum.
