The story of calligraphy can be said to be a joke or a truth. Jokes can be played, imagined, and perhaps read, but they may spread wrong knowledge; The truth is to say something according to historical documents and some historical facts.

What is the definition of calligraphy? There are at least two basic points: Chinese characters and Chinese character culture.

The legend of Chinese characters was created by Cang Xie. Originally surnamed Hou, Jia, commonly known as Mr. According to legend, Cang Xie was a Zuo surname, and his eyes were full of beauty and virtue. When Xuanyuan Huangdi rose, Cang Xie, the historian of Huangdi, was inspired by the footprints of birds and beasts, concentrated the wisdom of the working people, and worked hard for decades to collect and sort out hieroglyphics circulated among ancestors and popularize them. Cang Xie looked up at the arc direction of Kuixing, looked down at the texture of the turtle's back, the claw marks of birds and animals, the shape of mountains and rivers and the fingerprints of the palm, and was inspired, so he created hieroglyphics according to the shape of things.

The original calligraphy tools of Chinese characters in China were different from the western hard pen, or used knife carving as in early Oracle Bone Inscriptions. It is impossible for them to form such colorful calligraphy art as we see today.

For the beautification of Chinese characters, we can find a way out in decoration and tone. Calligraphy is an art with independent personality, which is different from painting and sculpture. The writer's emotional state of mind and the content of aesthetic accumulation are all moved on the paper through ink lines. Its lightness and heaviness, cadence and cadence can be ever-changing. Only China's brush can be competent for this expressive line, and only the brushwork skills related to the brush can be presented.

Calligraphy requires extremely high lines, and the harmony of line strength, rhythm, three-dimensional sense and line combination is a personalized vocabulary of calligraphy as an art. It is precisely because of this that "using a pen" is a skill with high requirements, great difficulty and long-term practice. The development of calligraphy art and the success of creation are usually reflected in the enrichment and perfection of lines.

Calligraphy is related to practicality, and all kinds of art are related to all kinds of labor. For example, music originated from labor songs, while sculpture appeared in architecture. However, the art that calligraphy is so closely related to daily writing is unique. Calligraphy was practical at first, and later developed into a recognized art in history. The copybooks and inscriptions handed down to this day are regarded as artistic treasures. Whether in the past or today, the daily works written by skilled and cultivated people are often appreciated as art treasures.

By learning calligraphy skills and brushwork, we can write Chinese characters clearly, beautifully and without missing a word. People who need to write love calligraphy and are diligent in practice.

There are some stories about ancient calligraphers, whose inspiration comes from seeing everything in nature. For example, Wang Xizhi and Goose are friends of Wang Xizhi and Zhi Dun. They visited Zhi Dun from Wanghanling to Wozhoushan and had a good talk. They were even happier when they saw a flock of white geese swimming in the stream. They waved brooms on the beach. Lian Bi's word "Goose" is full of spirit and charm.

Zhang Xu saw that Gong Sundaniang's sword dancing and calligraphy had made great progress, which was inspired by other art categories. In ancient times, some calligraphers were often not just people who worked hard on calligraphy. They are also good at painting, music and literary creation. Therefore, their artistic thinking is active, their thinking is open and their minds are broad. Therefore, calligraphy and other arts complement each other and are superior to simple calligraphers in rhythm, layout and style.

Calligraphy is a unique art form in China. It has the characteristics of China. What we have to do is to learn it well and spread it.
