Cao Cao's courtesy name is Mengde. Liu Bei's courtesy name is Xuande.
Cao Cao, Emperor Wu of the Wei Dynasty, whose real name was Ji Li, also named Mengde, nicknamed Ah Ma, and posthumously named Emperor Wu (Emperor Wu of Wei), was a native of Qiao County, Pei State. He was an outstanding statesman, militarist, writer and calligrapher in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and the founder of the Cao Wei regime.
Liu Bei, Emperor Zhaolie of the Han Dynasty, also named Xuande, was a native of Zhuo County, Zhuo County. After Liu Sheng, Prince Jing of Zhongshan in the Western Han Dynasty, he was the founding emperor and statesman of the Shu Han Dynasty. Historians often call him the first master. He is a humble, courteous and virtuous person, tolerant to others, ambitious, knows how to make good use of people, and has always been praised by the world for his kindness.
