However, the first step is to copy the words that need to be engraved on the stone tablet. Here is a brief introduction to how the ancients carved calligraphy on stone tablets without distortion.
1. Most of them are written directly on the tablet surface, also called the book list: the book list, which is a calligraphy art and craft that appeared in the mature stage of tablet engraving technology. Inscription, first of all, the words of the inscription should be transferred to the tablet blank. One way is to write directly on the tablet with red pigment, so it is called "Calligraphy Dan".
Write an epitaph
If something is not well written when carving, you can correct it with a knife.
In the early days, some people used Dani (that is, cinnabar) to directly carve words on stone tablets, and then began to chisel. But later, after the papers were greatly improved, people stopped doing this because they could keep the original ones. Why not?
2. Draw a double hook: put a translucent piece of paper on the original calligraphy, draw a double hook on the original handwriting with a miniature brush, then stick it on the stone surface and carve it according to the trace of the double hook, so that it is consistent with the handwriting of the original calligraphy.
Song Sushi's "Thank you for seeing a poem": "Zhu wax is imitation, exquisite minutes." The method of carving was recorded. Write the inscription on paper, cover the back of the manuscript with translucent paper (pay attention to the back, because you want to engrave the reverse word), and dip the pen in cinnabar (cinnabar is a red inorganic pigment with bright color and good moth-proof effect) to double-tick the handwriting. Then put the double-hook copy paper on the stone tablet, superimpose the multi-layer paper on the copy paper, and polish the stone evenly so that the double-hook silver ink sticks to the surface of the stone tablet. Then carve according to the traces of silver ink.
There are two versions of the method of finding double hooks by searching data. One, as mentioned above, uses translucent paper to draw hollow characters from the back of the manuscript. The other is to "cover the calligraphy ink with transparent rice paper (or oil paper), and use a hook pen as a single-hook ink text (similar to describing hollow characters). After obtaining a single-hook book, put it in front of the window to reflect sunlight, and then use a cinnabar single hook (describing hollow characters) on the back of the single-hook book.

3. Jiugongge method: The ancients also enlarged the handwriting of calligraphy. At this time, they will use Mi Zige or Jiugongge, which can be the same as the original handwriting to the greatest extent, but unless the carving is extremely clever, it is difficult to retain the spirit of the original.
