There should be no dwelling place, but the mind should be born.
"There should be no dwelling place, and the mind should be born", from the Diamond Sutra. The main idea is that the less entangled persistence, delusions, and assumptions in your heart, the easier it will be to find your true self and freedom.
No matter what situation you are in, this mind can arise naturally without attachment. If the mind is attached to something, as if it is rooted in something, it will not be able to effectively control everything. Therefore, no matter where you are, your mind must not have the slightest attachment, so that you can be at ease at any time and truly realize the truth.
"Diamond Sutra"
The further you go in life, the more you will find that there are many things that we cannot control. Choose the intricate world affairs, the confusing life, and get close to the eyes and mouth of others.
The only thing we can control is our own state of mind.
The story of Su Shi and Foyin
Su Shi was a great talent, and Foyin was an eminent monk. The two often practiced Zen and meditated together. One day, the two meditated together again.
Su Shi asked: What do you think I look like? Foyin said: I think you look like a Buddha. Su Shi laughed after hearing this and said to Foyin: Do you know what you look like sitting there? You look like a pile of cow dung. This time, Foyin suffered the disadvantage of being dumb again. Su Shi showed off this matter in front of Su Xiaomei when he returned home. Su Xiaomei sneered and said to her brother, "How can you still practice Zen with your level of understanding?"
Do you know what people who practice Zen pay most attention to? It is to see the mind and nature. What you have in your mind is what you see in your eyes. If the Buddha's seal says that you look like a Buddha, that means he has a Buddha in his heart; if you say that the Buddha's seal looks like cow dung, think about what is in your heart!
Truly wise people are often not defined. . Those who do not accept the definition will go further and further. None of us can control what others say, but you know who you are and what you pursue.
Only when you learn to look inward and not be affected by the external environment or human factors can you truly feel at ease.
May we all know our own hearts and see our true nature. Become who you are.
