Shunzhi granted her two pardons, once made her a concubine, and once gave birth to a son. What is so special about her?

There are three theories about the life experience of Concubine Dong E: 1. "The Biography of Concubines in the Manuscript of Qing History" records that Dong E was the daughter of Minister E Shuo. When she entered the palace at the age of 18, she was first established as a virtuous concubine, and one month later, she was established as an imperial concubine, thus granting a general amnesty to the world. 2. Concubine Dong E is Dong Xiaowan, a famous prostitute in Jiangnan. The real situation is that Dong Xiaowan was 14 years older than Shunzhi and died at the age of 28. According to historical records, Concubine Dong E was one year younger than Shunzhi. When she entered the palace, Concubine Dong E was 18 years old and Shunzhi was 19 years old. 3. Concubine Dong E is the wife of Shunzhi’s half-brother. German missionary Tang Ruo recorded in his memoirs that Shunzhi fell in love with the wife of a soldier. Later, the soldier died, and Shunzhi married the soldier's wife. Some people speculate that this soldier is Prince Heshuoxiang Bomubogor, Shunzhi's younger brother.

So, why is the official history so secretive about Concubine Dong E’s life before she turned 18? According to common sense, the age for talent selection in the Qing Dynasty palace is between 13 and 16 years old. Concubine Dong E is 18 years old, which is an older age. So at the age when she should marry, who did she marry before?

History Talker prefers the third theory. Concubine Dong E is the wife of Shunzhi's younger brother. After seeing Concubine Dong E, she immediately fell in love with her at first sight and they fell in love with each other. Later, after Concubine Dong E's husband passed away, Shunzhi welcomed Concubine Dong E into the palace.

Concubine Dong E's country is beautiful and fragrant, gentle and virtuous

Concubine Dong E's family grew up in a water town in the south of the Yangtze River. She has white skin, beautiful appearance, and beautiful country. She doesn't stick to the conventional Manchu dress. She is fashionable, simple and full of charm. She is gentle, virtuous, and extremely considerate. She is well-read in poetry and books, rich in economics, and has excellent calligraphy skills.

Concubine Dong E combined the advantages of women all over the world. She was good-looking, good-tempered, and knowledgeable. The most important point is that Concubine Dong E is the spiritual companion of Emperor Shunzhi. She has a high understanding and insight into Shunzhi's obsessed Zen. In Emperor Shunzhi's heart, Concubine Dong E had reached the pinnacle of Zen studies, and she was a true like-minded person. When Concubine Dong E was with Emperor Shunzhi, they were always close to each other, and they had endless things to say and love to talk about.

Concubine Dong E not only cared deeply about Shunzhi and took good care of her, but she also had a very good relationship with the Queen Mother, the Empress and the concubines in the harem. When the queen, the queen mother, or even the concubines were sick, she could take care of them for days and nights without leaving any clothes on.

Concubine Dong E was frugal, just like Empress Fucha of Qianlong, she did not wear pearls and jade, and she did not like to decorate herself too much. She sometimes heard or saw Shunzhi reviewing memorials without paying attention, and she always advised him to pay attention.

After Concubine Dong E entered the palace, she was quickly named a virtuous concubine, and one month later, she was named a noble concubine. It was too fast, too fast. But Shunzhi still felt that this was not enough, and wanted to make Concubine Dong E the queen. Concubine Dong E described all the inappropriateness, and finally knelt down and asked Emperor Shunzhi not to depose the queen. She was already satisfied, so Shunzhi gave up.

Concubine Dong E had always been in poor health. She became pregnant in October and gave birth to a prince. Shunzhi was so happy that he once again granted amnesty to the world. However, God was not kind to him, and the prince died early in the day. Concubine Dong E's health was not good. Shortly after the death of her son, the 21-year-old Concubine Dong E also passed away.

After Concubine Dong E passed away, Shunzhi did some crazy things

After Concubine Dong E passed away, Emperor Shunzhi almost lost his mind and was almost crazy. Therefore, Shunzhi did the following things: 1. Posthumously named Dong E as "Queen Duanjing". Shunzhi felt very sorry that he could not make Concubine Dong E the queen during her lifetime. Even if you die now, you must be given a status. The Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang had to compromise. 2. Order 30 palace maids and eunuchs to bury Concubine Dong E. 3. Not only did he almost have a mental breakdown and seek death, but he also made the whole country mourn for Concubine Dong E. 4. He asked 108 monks to chant sutras for Concubine Dong E. 5. During the national mourning period, the emperor's custom of reviewing memorials with a blue pen for 27 days was extended to more than 120 days in Shunzhi. 6. He asked the bachelor to write biographies and quotations that highlight the virtues of Concubine Dong E. He himself wrote the 4,000-word "The Deeds of Empress Xiaoxian" eloquently. 7. He gave up his country and decided to become a monk. Within two months, I went to see the eminent monk dozens of times. After finally getting tonsure as he wished, he was persuaded to change his mind and give up the idea of ??becoming a monk.

The Death of Shunzhi

After the death of Concubine Dong E, Shunzhi no longer had any nostalgia for life. In 1661, on the seventh day of the first lunar month, Emperor Shunzhi passed away.

"Records of the Ancestors of the Qing Dynasty" records as follows: In the eighteenth year of Shunzhi, Xinchou, the first month of spring, the first day of Xinhai, the emperor did not regard the court. The kings, civil and military ministers and ministers are not required to perform celebration ceremonies.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Suksaha, issued an edict: "Except for the ten heinous capital crimes, the seventh-month capital crimes, and all other criminals, all criminals in the capital will be released." ?Ding Si, at night, Zi Ke, collapsed in the Yangxin Hall. ?

But how did Emperor Shunzhi die? There is no record in the official history, and there are two mainstream theories: one is the smallpox theory, which says that Shunzhi contracted smallpox on the second day of the first lunar month. At that time, smallpox was an incurable disease and might cause panic, so the palace blocked the news to prevent it from spreading. However, the day before Shunzhi died, he summoned the ministers, dictated the imperial edict, listed 14 of his crimes, and allowed the third son of the emperor, Xuan Ye, to ascend the throne. Of course, some people think that this edict was written by the Queen Mother, because she was so deeply self-reproached that the Queen Mother could not tolerate it. Another theory is the theory of becoming a monk, saying that Shunzhi went to Mount Wutai to become a monk. Later, some people said that the Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang took Xuan Ye to Mount Wutai many times just to meet Shunzhi. Others say that Emperor Kangxi went to Mount Wutai five times in his life to find his father. "Poetry in Praise of Buddha at Qingliang Mountain" was written by Wu Weiye, a talented man at that time, "Your Majesty lives for ten thousand years, but my concubine's life is like dust." I would like to have a coffin from the Nanshan Mountain and a cup from the West Palace. ? People are full of daydreams about Shunzhi becoming a monk in Mount Wutai.

The cause of Shunzhi's death, like the life experience of Concubine Dong E, is an eternal mystery. But the unwavering love between Shunzhi and Concubine Dong E has always been praised! Life or death, never leave!
