First, the preface to Zhu Hua Ji
Liang Jiang
Zhu Wanzhangjun 1992 After graduating from Sun Yat-sen University, he went to Guangdong Provincial Museum to engage in the collection, appraisal and research of calligraphy and painting. After accumulating considerable work experience, he entered China Academy of Fine Arts for further study and obtained a doctorate. Be sensitive, eager to learn, diligent and rigorous. Up to now, more than 0/00 academic papers/kloc have been published in various professional journals such as Art Research, Literature and Art Research and Journal of the Forbidden City. He has published several papers, such as Lingnan Jinshi Calligraphy, Chen Shiceng, Guangdong Biography, Lingnan Calligraphy, Guangdong Painting Visiting the Ancient, Guangdong Painting, and Residence. Not only in Guangdong, but also in Quanzhou, it is a rising star in the fields of painting, calligraphy and cultural relics collection.
Wan has been honed in the painting and calligraphy collection, cultural relics and antiques industry for 20 years, and has contacted many painting and calligraphy masters and academic celebrities. Over time, he not only developed his vision, but also gradually developed his practical skills, and began to enter the field of calligraphy and painting creation, no longer staying in simple research.
This time, Wan took out a batch of flower-and-bird paintings, all of which were based on gourds, mostly large and thick, striving for perfection. I once asked Zhang Wan why he preferred gourds. He replied: a gourd and a world. This language is a bit ridiculous. In my impression, there is a saying that "a flower is the world, a tree is floating, a grass is heaven, and a leaf is Tathagata", and the words "Hua Yan Jing" and "Hanshan Old Man Sleepwalking Collection" are published. "One flower and one world" or "one pot and one world" in the production of ceramic purple sand mainly refers to seeing the big from the small, which is almost the same as all skills. In any case, it is similar to the traditional expression of heart and mind in China literati paintings.
Like most audiences, I seldom saw Wan's paintings in the past. Today, we can see that he uses his pen attentively, puts meaning first, has an orderly structure, and has the spirit of expressing his mind directly with his pen, which further confirms his guess that he prefers literati painting. Zhang Wan's painting reveals the other side of his temperament. In his mind, there are some Sichuan people's persistence and courage, as well as the romance of intellectuals. This feature will continue to be tempered and strengthened in the future, and may become the main body of his personal artistic style elements. This album is the first collection of paintings created by Zhang Wan after years of focusing on academics and research. For him, this is the beginning of a new round of travel. Like everyone else, I look forward to his new achievements.

2. "One Hu One World: Zhu Painting Exhibition" was held in Guangdong.
Zhu Painting Exhibition sponsored by Guangdong Painting and Calligraphy Institute and Guangdong Shunde New Bureau opened in Shunde Museum, Guangdong on the morning of February 6, 2002. More than 500 leaders, experts and scholars from Guangdong Provincial Committee of NLD, Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Yangcheng Evening News, Guangdong Provincial Museum, Zhaoqing Artists Association, Guangzhou Nansha Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Guangdong Shunde Artists Association, Shunde Collectors Association and Shunde Calligraphers Association attended the unveiling ceremony. At the opening ceremony, Zhu donated paintings to Guangdong Shunde Museum and Nanhai Museum respectively, and the two museums awarded them collection certificates respectively.
Zhu is an art historian and appraiser of calligraphy and painting, and has published more than 20 academic works such as Appraisal of Calligraphy and Painting and Research on Art History. Academic circles have long been familiar with Zhu's achievements in the study of art history and the appraisal of calligraphy and painting, but little is known about his painting art. In fact, after academic research, Zhu is also good at painting flowers and landscapes, especially gourds, which is called literati painting by academic circles and has aroused good response in the industry. His works were collected by Sichuan Museum, Guangdong Provincial Museum, Guangdong Nanhai Museum and Guangdong Shunde Museum.
In this * * * exhibition, there are 60 works by Mr. Zhu with gourd as the theme. Hulu has the meaning of exorcising evil spirits and receiving blessings in folk culture, and it is a symbol of good luck. Zhu regarded this as a special painting theme and an attempt to combine folk culture with literati painting. The paintings on display this time are his works after academic research, which are loose and interesting, reflecting a scholar's interest in brushwork. In order to cooperate with this exhibition, the album "One Hu, One World-Zhu's Painting Collection" published by Lingnan Fine Arts Publishing House was also released at the same time. In addition to all the exhibits, Zhu's main academic achievements and photos of academic activities are also collected, which reflects his exploration process in academic and painting art.
The exhibition lasts until 20 13 1.6.
February 20 13, "Wandering of Art-Zhu Hulu Painting Exhibition" will be held soon.
Third, the small gourd and the big world in the hands of experts.
Yachang Art Network News (Deng Xiaofang) 201212 On February 6th, the exhibition "One Hu, One World-Zhu Painting Exhibition and the First Collection of Shunde Inscriptions and Postscripts" jointly sponsored by Guangdong Painting and Calligraphy Institute and Shunde Cultural and Sports Tourism Bureau was held in Shunde Museum (in Xishan Temple). This exhibition * * *.
A literati painter who is both a historian and an appraiser.
Chen Shiceng mentioned in "The Value of Literati Painting" that "the elements of literati painting are: the first character, the second knowledge, the third talent and the fourth thought; With these four, it can be perfect. Take art as a cover, touch people and respond with spirit. " Since the Song Dynasty, the rise of literati painting has pushed China's painting to a new level and height. In the eyes of literati painters at that time, painting was no longer a tool to express realism, but this view was obviously contrary to the extreme realism of court painters in Song Dynasty. This sharp contradiction can be said to be the beginning of modern changes in China's painting history. As a "scholar", the first thing you emphasize is the cultivation of character and knowledge. Writing and painting is only a part of self-cultivation, and the purpose is to serve character and knowledge. As a connoisseur of calligraphy and painting and an art historian, Mr. Zhu naturally understands the profound meaning. Wu Shuo, a painter in the Yuan Dynasty, whose paintings are purely "ink plays, and the words of the literati are rich and interesting". This shows that literati painting has its own language, not to please anyone, nor to make money. Its value lies in its own context and mutual understanding and appreciation among literati groups.
Hulu: Understanding and Persistence in the Essence of China Traditional Culture
Mr. Zhu's Hulutu is a typical academic literati painting. After all, he is a well-known figure in the field of art history, and he often exudes the breath of a historian and the demeanor of a Confucian scholar. From his paintings, we can clearly see the literati's heroic spirit of "talking freely" or "chatting to entertain themselves". This can be confirmed in his paintings. His pen and ink are free and easy, simple and focused, and his splashing technique is very unique, with obvious personal style. The common writing method of splashing ink is swept away in a big stroke, while Mr. Zhu mainly uses stopping and clicking, and the faint ink stains out, making the whole picture like spring rain, which is very smooth. The golden color of the gourd shines in the whole picture, which complements the dark ink and wash. In the picture, the gourd vines are naturally interspersed with Jiao Mo eager to write, just like a dragon walking between paper and ink.
In the concept of China people, the gourd is the symbol of its homophonic "Fulu". If there is a pair of gourds in the picture, it can be called "Fulu Shuang Quan". The golden gourd in the painting naturally has a beautiful symbol of "Fulu" and contains infinite auspicious meaning. Moreover, gourd has the geomantic effect of ward off evil spirits in traditional culture and is widely loved by people. Mr. Zhu is not so fond of writing gourds as his understanding and obsession with the essence of China traditional culture. He has a profound China feeling from the heart.

Mr. Zhu will hold an exhibition. This news must have surprised many people, including friends in the circle. In fact, Mr. Zhu is good at painting, especially orchids and gourds, which are unique; And I have written for many years and accumulated a lot. It's not as simple as chatting when you are happy. It's just that Mr. Zhu's painting name is covered by his literary name, and he is humble and low-key, so even his close friends don't know that he is good at painting.
Mr Zhu is a famous figure in the field of art history. Scholars engaged in art history draw one more thing than ordinary painters, and that is historical consciousness. The importance of historical knowledge is not mentioned today. In fact, many people deliberately ignore it, because with historical knowledge, they dare not write easily, they will be full of awe of artistic things, and they will bind their hands and feet. Wu Changshuo, once a sage, painted for many years before he dared to show his works to others. Huang, Fu Baoshi and Pan Tianshou are all masters of art history. I painted a lot today, and I just wanted to make money before I started painting. Even in the rivers and lakes, let him walk freely, and strange things emerge one after another. Who cares about historical consciousness?
As a rigorous scholar, Mr. Zhu undoubtedly has a clear sense of history in his creation. The so-called historical consciousness, in other words, is to realize that Chinese painting must follow its own cultural logic in order to achieve its own logical self-consistency, which has been repeatedly proved by art history. This truth is the cultural logic of Chinese painting itself. Without its own logic, it first lost its cultural significance as a traditional Chinese painting. What about "self-consistency" Generally speaking, it is not Chinese painting, and "country" will not be "country". Many people think that picking up a brush and scribbling on rice paper is called Chinese painting, but that makes no sense at all. In the past century, art has been greatly influenced by social thoughts, artists have also talked about democracy, and art also requires independence and freedom. Freedom in art is not as good as freedom in society, which is bound by the theory of "group-self boundary", while art, without any constraint, is getting worse and worse, and even today it is lawless. Of course, this kind of art is of no value except providing original evidence for "so-called artists who were so confused and incompetent in history" in the future. Daniel, a famous American cultural scholar, once said: I advocate democracy politically, freedom economically and conservatism culturally. "Conservative", we need this attitude too much at present.
I will say a few words about Mr. Zhu's historical consciousness and the cultural logic of his paintings. First, in terms of spiritual character, conforming to art is the essential attribute of pursuing spiritual lofty and individual freedom. Teacher Zhu's paintings are elegant, childlike and rare. Second, in terms of technical performance, it is in deep agreement with the effectiveness of the means of expression, that is, respect and application of lines. Even a generation of philosopher Kant admitted this. Kant said that in terms of the effectiveness and richness of emotional expression, there is no doubt that lines are better than blocks. Mr. Zhu's works are all line expressions. Needless to say, orchids and gourds are the same. Even the leaves of the gourd come from the thread, but the thread is enlarged. Huang said that he was most influenced by such a sentence in painting, that is, to use a pen "flat and bright". Mr. Zhu's paintings have undoubtedly achieved "clear brushwork". Teacher Zhu's paintings have never been horizontal and vertical, which is obviously the work of people who are proficient in art history. I once saw one of Mr. Zhu's gourds, and there was a vine in it, which was as strong as bent iron and threw down straight. It still looks very rhythmic and full of tension. It's a stroke of genius.
I was lucky enough to visit Mr. Zhu's orchids and gourds many times, and I was deeply touched.
