Shihuadong

Shihua Cave in Beijing, formerly known as Qianzhen Cave, also known as Shi Fo Cave (Shibuda Cave), is a typical representative of karst caves in northern China. The cave is divided into seven floors, the first to fifth floors are about 5000 meters long, and the sixth and seventh floors are underground rivers.

At present, there are 16 caves, 12 tall halls and 7 1 branches with different shapes.

The natural landscape in the Shihua Cave is exquisite, colorful and varied, with the beautiful scenery of tall and white stalagmites, carnations, stalactites, stone curtains, stone waterfalls and stone steps deposited by dripping water, flowing water and stagnant water, and the general feeling of looking at the grotesque caves in the old version of The Journey to the West.

For the first time in China, a large number of lotus seeds have been found in caves, so Shihua Cave has high scientific research and aesthetic appreciation value.

Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site

Zhoukoudian Peking man site, located about 50 kilometers southwest of Beijing, is located at the junction of mountains and plains. Most of the nearby mountains are limestone. Under the action of hydraulic power, natural caves of different sizes are formed and become warehouses for burying "keels", so the mountain is named Longgu Mountain.

There is a natural cave on the mountain, where Beijingers lived 500,000 years ago. They lived in caves for more than 400,000 years, leaving behind their leftovers, used utensils and their remains. Later, the cave was buried by landslide, sediment and falling rocks.

The teeth of two people were found here for the first time, which is the first time that the remains of Beijingers were found. 192965438+On February 2nd, China archaeologist Mr. Fei Wenzhong discovered the first complete Peking man skull fossil in the north fissure accumulation of Peking man site.

Up to now, all the unearthed Peking man fossils include six relatively complete skulls, 12 broken bones, 15 mandibles, 157 teeth, 10 residual limb bones and bones. These fossils represent the bodies of more than 40 men, women and children.

Zhoukoudian is famous as the hometown of China apes. According to the location of the excavation, scientists named this primitive human "Beijinger" and called this cave "Peking Man Site".

Above the Peking man site, in a cave near the top of the mountain, is the Neanderthal site, where the complete skulls and bones of three adult men and women were found. Red hematite powder was found scattered around the bones of Neanderthals.

A "necklace" made of bone needles, perforated bone pendants, fishbones, tooth ornaments and stone beads used by Neanderthals was also found in the cave, which is enough to prove that they have learned to sew animal skin clothes to keep out the cold and know how to dress themselves, reflecting the germination of primitive art of Neanderthals.

According to scientific estimates, there is no obvious difference between the body characteristics of cavemen and modern people. He is a primitive yellow man. They lived 18000 years ago, a big step forward than "Beijingers".
