The life of the character

Zhao Youhong, 1940, from Beijing. He is one of the few imperial academy painters in China. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, Italian painter Lang Shining introduced western painting techniques into the court, which initiated a new era of court painting. In the early years of Guangxu, Zhao Youhong's great-grandfather visited Zhang Weishi, a court painter, and later entered the Qing Palace Construction Department as a painter. After middle age, he worked as a painting teacher in Puyi and Pu Jie. Ma Jin, a master of modern meticulous painting, was enlightened by Zhao Shu Village when he was a teenager. He respected Lang Shining's skills, studied court painting seriously, and eventually became a master. Ma Jin is very grateful for the teaching of Zhao Shu Village. At the age of 56, he took Zhao Youhong as an apprentice and taught painting at home, making Zhao Youhong a new generation of descendants of the court painting school. Zhao Youhong entered the room at the age of fifteen. At the age of twenty-two, Ma Jin instructed him to complete the huge "Hundred Kings Map", which caused a sensation in Beijing painting circles and made him a descendant of the court painting school. Since then, Zhao Youhong has worked hard to forget himself and persevere. Although he struggled with customs, he was still hungry for rivers and seas, which greatly increased his painting skills and gradually became a Beidou. However, he inherited the humble and gentle nature of his ancestors, kept a low profile and stayed away from meritorious deeds, which made his paintings colorful but hidden. Zhao Youhong's paintings capture the essence of Ma Jin, fresh and gorgeous, smart and solemn. What is particularly wonderful is that he inherited and developed Ma Jin's horse painting techniques, attached importance to the overall atmosphere, and handled the details in detail, so that every part showed the painter's profound skill and dignified thoughts. Meticulous painting is made with cooked propaganda, and Zhao Youhong can make his paintings more vivid and moist. Only two or three people survived the stunt of this court painting school. At present, Zhao Youhong's paintings have been recognized by all walks of life, and various exhibitions have been invited in droves, which has attracted the enthusiastic attention of galleries and collectors at home and abroad. Zhao Youhong's painting art is famous for his meticulous flowers and birds, especially for painting horses. In his works, flowers are lifelike, butterflies fly freely, dragonflies are light, birds are full of vitality, and there are vibrant scenes everywhere. Zhao Youhong's flower-and-bird paintings pursue the bone method of Song people and the charm of Yuan people, and are vivid in form and have both form and spirit, forming a personal elegant and unique artistic style.

Zhao Youhong's painting art can achieve such a situation, thanks to his good family conditions, but also because of his perseverance and hard work. Zhao Youhong's ancestors were all scholars or professionals in poetry and calligraphy. If you live with the lame, you will learn to limp. Born in such a scholarly family with profound cultural background, Zhao Youhong was fascinated by China's paintings from an early age and received formal training. Later, he entered the Academy of Fine Arts to study the art of Chinese painting. After graduation, he studied under Ma Jin, a famous painter of Beijing Painting Academy, and became a disciple of Ma Jin.

Painting appreciation

Personal life

Objective conditions are one wing of his artistic success, and hard study and nuance are the other wing of his success. Chinese painting emphasizes learning from nature, especially flower-and-bird painting, otherwise it is difficult to achieve the purpose of vivid and intriguing images. In the process of learning traditional skills and sketching, Mr. Zhao often forgets to eat and sleep. Sun, a calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, advocated attaching importance to imitators and connoisseurs, while Zhao Youhong had his unique observation ability in painting and sketching. The more subtle the link, the stronger his observation, which can be seen clearly in his pictures. It's really well-meaning.

Where there is a will, there is a way. After decades of hard exploration, Mr. Zhao has made remarkable artistic achievements. His works have been exhibited in Chinese mainland and abroad. Among them, they have been favored by the audience in China Art Museum, Capital Museum and Malaysian exhibitions, and have been published in various art newspapers for many times. His works are also widely collected by people of insight at home and abroad.
