Doctoral students from 20 universities in China have 20 research directions, including China's calligraphy and culture, comparative study of calligraphy and painting, calligraphy theory's research, calligraphy and painting printing creation research, China's calligraphy and painting theory and creation research, China's calligraphy theory and creation research, China's traditional art history research, calligraphy philology, China's inscription history research, calligraphy culture and communication psychology research, and artistic creation theory research.
There are 43 doctoral supervisors in China, and at most one doctoral supervisor is recruited every year, with no more than 43 students.
