In the second year of Wude, Yin Kaishan followed him to pacify the king again. But he died suddenly on the way to pacify Liu Heita. At that time, he had just been awarded the title of Yun Guogong. When Li Shimin learned the news, he cried on the spot, and posthumously awarded him as the right assistant of Shandong Daoyou and posthumous title Jiedu. He died too early, leaving no children.
